2015 ASICS Junior and Cadet Nationals, Fargo, ND

6-6 between Moran and Lewallen and Moran wins on he criteria of last takedown scored for third. Keegan Mooreis now wrestling at 138.
HEART BREAK for Keegan Moore leading 7-6 with less than 15 seconds to go over Kolodzik when he is pushed out to tie the score 7-7 and Kolodzik wins on criteria (4 point move) Moore was trailing on the basis of that 4 point move 6-1 in the first and scored 6 points to 1 for Kolodzik in 2nd period only to lose. I believe Zachary Moore who was wrestling at the same time lost to Zander Wick but I will double check. Sheets was trailing 6-0to Gruiffin Parriot of Minnesota midway through the 2nd period. Joe Smith is the last of our wrestlers at 160. BTW Mitch McKee of Mn lost to Taylor Lamont Utah to take first at 132.

Zachary Moore inj defaulted to Wick of Ca. and takes 6th and Wyatt Sheets came back in the 2nd period to score the only 3 points but loses to Parriot 6-3Team scores show Oklahoma #1 with 60, Ohio #2 with 50 and Illinois #3 with 48 and Minnesota #4 at 46 and California #5 at 38. Oklahoma does not have any more wrestlers after Joe Smith at 160. Illinois has a finals match at 170 a 5th place match at 182 and 7th place matches at 220 and heavyweight so if Smith wins I believe it is locked up. Ohio hasa 3rd place match at 182, 7th place at 182, 3rd place at 195 and 3rd place at 220.

At 152 Larry Early storms back in the last 30 seconds to score 4 points and defeat Evan Wick of Ca. by a 12-8 score. He would have lost on criteria at 8-8. Congrats to Larry and big Larry!

Joe Smith has a first period 10-0 tech fall to take Gold at 160. He had all tech falls in the tournament and gave up Zero (0) points in the tournament. Congratulations to Joe Smith for Gold along with Daton Fix and all ten other All-Americans for Oklahoma. By my count I believe Oklahoma now has 63 points and I think has the team race locked up. I am So done for the day.

Impressive showing by the Oklahoma team. That JoJo Smith is going to be a ton. I guess you guys already knew that. He will be fun to watch in college.

Congrats to you guys. Feel bad for Keegan Moore. He had it won and then just seemed to have a brain fart for a half second and stepped out of bounds.

Thanks. It was good to see Fredy, Larry and Joe go back to back to back and finish great high school careers on top.

Final team scores are official.1. Oklahoma 61,2. Ohio 54, 3. Illinois 53, 4. New Jersey 47, 5. Minnesota 38, 6. California 37, 7. Iowa 28, 9. Arizona 19, 9. Texas 19. One more comment The announcers during the Early/Wick match indicated no commitment or leaning for Wick and that this tournament might boost his recruiting.I concur and think OK State ought to be looking at this Senior-to-be from San Marino, California who was ranked California at 138# as late as 3/15. He is now wrestling at 152 and he is tall and lean and reminds me a lot of Mark Branch in Highschool. I think we ought to be looking at him down the road as a 165 pounder. He gave Early a hell of a battle. He also defeated Hayden Hidlay in the quarters who I think is an outstanding prospect. Hint-Hint to the Oklahoma State coaches.
