I’m watching an old episode of Happy Days on MeTV and in Richie’s bedroom he has poster of a Confederate flag. In the episode, the network blurred out the flag. Pretty sad that something on a TV show from the 1970s that’s set in the 1950s would offend someone.

After looking at the latest football recruiting information from several sources, I found some interesting data around the conference.

Excluding OU and Texas from the data, here is a summary:

We led the conference in the number of recruits rated a 5.7 or higher with 12. ISU had 11, and WVU had 10. KU had the lowest with 1. BYU had 2, UCF 7, Houston 2, and Cincy 4.

We led the conference in the number of recruits with multiple P5 offers over 5 with 15. Baylor had 12 as did West Virginia. ISU had 11. Tech had
10. KU had 1 player with more than 5 offers. The biggest surprise was KState. While they had four players with 5 or more offers, they had by far the number with the fewest offers from a P5 program. Ten of their recruits had only offer and that was from the Wildcats. Either they are the best program in the nation at finding hidden gems and developing talent, or this class is going to hurt them down the road.

Overall, our class was the third best on paper, but Weat Virginia, Iowa State, Tech, and Baylor we’re close behind. TCU was also strong but signed far fewer recruits.

Many of you may know Carlton Rizer from Extreme Camp. Carlton passed on to his new eternal home in Heaven this last week.

During the celebration of life, Carlton's pastor related that "Carlton loved; 1. Every thing Oklahoma State, 2. Simon & Garfunkel, and 3. fried chicken!" Carlton could be found on the Cascades golf course in a golf cart sporting the Brightest Orange in All the Land.

Carlton was a devoted rock solid member of our East Texas Alumni Association Chapter. We will continually miss you Carlton. Pistols firing in Heaven!
