It's used extensively in the operating room. It's used for people who are allergic to natural opiates. It's used for pain management in trauma victims. It's also commonly used in the emergency department for acute pain. Putting fentanyl in Schedule 1 will eliminate the valid medical uses and while having zero effect on fentanyl coming from Mexico.
