Questions-Needing Answers

Any input or suggestions are appreciated.

1. Why isn’t Howland playing more?

He’s probably wishing he stayed at Indiana. They are undefeated.

2. Is Coach Randolph an upgrade over Richmond? He was hired to help our dline get more sacks.

3. Gundy played as a true freshman. Why can’t Flores play since he is a redshirt freshman?

4. Has Dunn lost his MoJo? His game plans are not working.

5. Is Coach Dickey earning his pay? How do 6 redshirt senior starters on the oline play worse than last season?

Rangel/Flores Time

We’re essentially eliminated from the Big 12 title game. With the number of warts our team has, I don’t see any way we run the table to end the season.

With big 12 championship and Playoff contention gone, Gundy HAS to see if Rangel or Flores are big 12 caliber QBs. Bowmans reps need to go to those 2 guys. We don’t need to waste any more time on a guy who’s in his 7th year of college and is afraid to step up in the pocket and fire a ball and has no mobility.

Hopefully Rangel or Flores show us some signs because if they don’t, we’re going to have to get NIL going and get a proven QB.

Continuing to trot out Bowman is doing a disservice to Rangel and Flores. Could they seriously be worse than Bowman? I highly doubt it

Defensive Scheme

If you look at some of our defensive transfers over the past 3 years, we’ve lost a starting LB to USC, a #1 corner to Washington/Oregon and a #2 CB to Colorado (McKinney). Those 3 would definitely be helpful.

Looking past that, we must make a change at defensive coordinator. Not only are we atrocious at stopping the run, we could be worse at giving up WIDE OPEN big pass plays. I don’t know where we could find stats, but we have to be bottom 5 in all of college football at giving up explosive plays since Nardo has been here. To me that screams poor coaching and/or poor scheme. When you have those factors and lose starters in the portal, your defense is really hamstrung.
