Ancestry has the Cherokee Chief Oconosotota "Stalking Turkey" as my 7th great grandfather. His mother was Shawnee.

He had four wives so I am not sure which one is my grandmother. One of his wives was English.

One of my haplogroups showed a Native American gene from the western tribes.

It confused me but maybe it was from the Shawnee tribe.

Time to get this party stared again. I went hunting some bourbon today and two of the best liquor stores in town and didn’t see a lot that caught my eye.

The last several years I drink mostly single malt and rye or Redbreast Irish. But decided Ivwas going to look for one of the Breyer moderately priced bourbon handles I remembered seeing mentioned here. Not much available other than the flagship big brands. Is there a lot of scarcity right now for more select brands or variations?

I did find a Makers Mark 101, which I personally had never seen before. I bought it. $40. Will let you know what I think.

Who actually owns it??

My son is getting married mid June in Stillwater. He and his fiance both live there. We have been talking to the food director at Karsten Creek about having the rehersal dinner there since Feb and signed a contract 3 weeks ago.

We were in Stillwater 2 weeks ago and went to Karsten to figure out the layout of the tables etc.

Last week we were told "sorry but they have decided to close down end of May". We talked to the general manager who talked with the owner.... who said we could use the building and have it catered. She even offered...if the chef there wanted to g do it... that they could do the dinner like we originally planned.

She came back to us a day or two later and said the chef was willing to do it......but she forgot that the AC is supposed to be replaced and had to see when that was supposed to happen.

It has been a week and today the general manager came back today and said the AC contacted won't or can't give her a date as to when they will be replacing the AC.

We have had the invitations printed etc with Karsten creek as the venue and we are 6 weeks out so needless to say my wife and I are pissed.

This is a rather large rehersal dinner 65+ people and there aren't many places that can handle it.
To my mind it is ludicrous that they cannot get a date from the contractor and or can't tell them to do it after the rehersal dinner.

So if any of you have a contact I can talk to it would be great. Or any ideas on a venue but we have looked at just about everything.

That the only people God told He had designated an exact spot on earth they could have exclusively were the Jews, and really He only told one Jew, Abraham, who was their leader. Why didn’t God explain to all the non-Jewish people living there that they needed to leave? He’s omnipotent. Why didn’t He just snap his fingers and magically relocate all the non-Jews somewhere else? Somewhere they could be as happy as the Jews would be? He is supposed to love us all, is he not? Why did He create a situation in which hatred and violence would dominate? I find it odd that we are supposed to accept the word of one man who lived many thousands of years ago that God told him *and only him* that his people had His blessing to cause as much murder and havoc as they wanted in order to control the land He promised to them, but didn’t bother to tell anyone else, especially the ones who would be on the receiving end of the murder and havoc. Hey, God! A little head’s up would have been nice!
