QB and Defense

We knew those were the two limiting factors heading into the season but I didn’t think both would stick out so clearly.

There was hope that Ollie and the skill players would mask the below average play at QB and that the depth on the DL and a few high end players would make the defense serviceable.

Unfortunately teams are selling out to stop our running game and we do not have a QB who can consistently take advantage of very advantageous defensive looks.

The Nardo experiment has been an unmitigated disaster. Those scratching their heads and screaming foul at the hire are unfortunately being proven right.

We will need to regroup quickly as we have several tough games remaining.

Update on Trump's speaking schedule

You can learn more about where this race is by watching where Trump speaks.

Trump is currently speaking in Wisconsin. Vance is speaking in PA today, Tulsi and RFK Jr are speaking in Michigan.

Tomorrow, Trump is in PA.

Tuesday, Trump speaks two more times in WI.

Weds, Vance speaks in MI.

Friday, Trump speaks in NC and Vance speaks in GA.

Saturday, Trump speaks in Butler, PA, site of the failed assassination attempt from July.

So, MI, WI, PA, NC and GA are the states they are hitting in the coming week.

So let's assume for a minute that Kamala gets NV, and Trump gets AZ, NC and GA.

That means Kamala must sweep PA, WI and MI or else Trump wins.

So my guess is they will simply focus the cheat on those states and give up on GA and AZ this round. I would guess Trump and surrogates will continue to spend the majority of their time in PA, WI and MI.

I would watch those three states like a hawk. If ANY positive development concerning the election comes out for Trump, especially focused on securing election integrity, watch for how the left reacts.

I think we are all but down to 3 states. If we can prevent the steal in just one of them, that could be the whole bag.

I think we knew it was coming (non sports)

Chesapeake Energy is going away...in name only. After their merger with Southwestern Energy Company, they are rebranding to Expand Energy Corp...a stupid name. Anyway, for those of us who experienced their growth, their reputation, their methods, their culture....won't be another one like them again. Couple of guys who started with little and ended up huge...beyond their own dreams most likely. Anyway, everything changes and it was just a matter of time for this to happen. Hope they stay in okc but who knows. They are now the largest natural gas producer in the US. Both Aubrey and Tom won't be forgotten. They're on nasdaq as EXE....

What does next year look like?

1) Dumbest idea ever to keep Dickey if story he agreed to retire after this year was true. He’s worse than ever which happens when you have checked out. Was he ever even checked in here or were we his easy money semi-retirement?
2) Everybody always forgets McEndoo. FIRE HIS ASS!!! He’s been even worse. His recruiting is non-existent. But he does cornpone country crap with Gundy and their sons played together….
3) Our offense is junior high level, especially our route tree. Dunn is handcuffed but still sucks.
4) Nardo…joke of a hire. But all he has had to work with is an edge rusher, 1 linebacker, and a decent secondary. DL is trash. Roberson is terrible.

5) Here’s the kicker….we lose all/almost every good player (as far as having shown it) after this year. Maybe it will be addition through subtraction.
6) Speaking of kicker….we need a new one.

So…what does this team and coaching staff look like next year? Maybe we get some coaches under 55?

Why Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy says NCAA is becoming 'a non-factor' in college football

STILLWATER — Asked about the forthcoming NCAA antitrust lawsuit settlement that will bring the next wave of changes to college football, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy asked some questions in return.

“Everything will be new and it’s fascinating to me now,” Gundy said. “As we move forward and get into players actually being employees, the issue will be, what do we do with the NCAA? Where do they stand? Because right now, they’re a non-factor.

“What role will they play as we migrate toward an NFL model? Will they actually be a factor or not. That’s what’s gonna be really interesting.”

Gundy and all college coaches await U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken’s signature on the settlement with the NCAA that will restructure the current landscape of name, image and likeness, and is expected to alter the limits of college football rosters.

“It all fascinates me to see what’s next,” Gundy said. “Nothing surprises me anymore. We’re trying to stay ahead of the game a little bit, which is difficult because we don’t know what the parameters are yet.

The timeline for the settlement to be enacted remains cloudy as the legal process plays out, but Gundy’s questions are valid.

The role of the NCAA continues to diminish within college football, and many have speculated that major-conference programs could break away from the organization in the future.

“It’s gonna change again,” Gundy said. “Players are gonna have employment contracts. There’s a whole line of things that are gonna fall in place here in the next 6-12 months, maybe 18 months.”

Gundy says discipline lacking in Saturday scrimmage

After his post-practice press conference wrapped up Saturday afternoon, Gundy turned toward a couple of media members and showed the hand-written list on the clipboard he had carried during the team’s scrimmage inside Boone Pickens Stadium.

Those were the penalties that had been called during the workout, which was concerning for Gundy because of the veteran nature of his team.

“For the experience we have and where we’re at, we have way too many mistakes from a discipline standpoint,” Gundy said. “We need to become much more disciplined.

“I don’t see any passiveness with them in the way they’re practicing. But you can’t just turn it on in the last week.”

Gundy said the Cowboys will scrimmage again in the middle of the week, then once more next weekend before turning more thoroughly to game preparations. OSU opens the season against South Dakota State at 1 p.m. Aug. 31 at Boone Pickens Stadium.

OSU coaches researching impact of 2-minute warning

One of the lesser discussed rule changes that is coming to college football this year is the addition of a two-minute warning in each half.

While the impact might seem minimal, Gundy says the research he and his staff have done suggest it is a bigger change than people might notice.

“We’ve had to get studies and research from NFL people to look at it,” Gundy said. “You wouldn’t think it’d be as big of an impact, but … so many scenarios can happen. And particularly in college.

“We’re in the process of studying it. We’re redoing all of our end-of-half and end-of-game sheets. We’ll have to be prepped for those in a lot of different ways, not just offensively, but defensively as well.”
