Just watched Witcraft get pinned in 32 seconds.

Personally thought the whistle was a little quick, as he rolled out of it (albeit awkwardly). Tough start to the day.

Go POKES!

For those watching (I’m stuck in traffic) how’s Young’s health look?

Looks slow, flat, almost disinterested honestly.

Lost his opening match 5-0 with 3:30 of riding time against him.
Carter gave up the takedown when he was on the leg, then ridden. 3rd period Carter gives up a reversal (big mistake) ridden most of the 3rd period. It looked like Bergland could ride Carter all day because Carter hardly ever got off his stomach. Injured but made poor decisions.

Lots of higher seeds giving everything they have....Already seen a couple of upsets so far.

Van Ness getting worked before finally getting a pin.
Diakomohailis (sp?) battled with Demas until late.
Murin doing the Iowa stall to eventually win.

Very competitive for the most part.

Yeah. Matcast on ESPN+ has been a pretty entertaining watch. All 8 mats. Almost like being there....

Uuuuuuuggggggghhhhh y’all

Granted our dudes have been
125: backup
133: beast
141: hurt recently
149: freshman

But still. Stinks to see first round losses.

Other than Fix, our guys are boring to watch. Little offense.
Witcraft is entertaining against competition not named Pat Glory who was a terrible mismatch for him. Young is wrestling on one leg. Victor tried, and I still think he'll make some noise in the wrestlebacks. Gfeller will be fun. I'm not expecting much from Sheets. Plott's always a good time. Our upper weight guys are good, but not necessarily the most exciting.

Plott with a 3-2 victory

Sheets unfortunately got O'Toole in the first round and got wrecked.

One of the early better matches for the Big 12 was Volk over D’Augustinio

Van Ness was down 8-1, had 14 points scored on him, and came back with a 3 period pin.

Agree with everyone on Young. He’s on one leg, and completely nullifies his strengths. Helpless on bottom.
