Has to be one of the worst run departments. Our office sent two separate envelopes in mid October to our corporate office. There was $200,000 in checks between the two. One made it a week ago and the other is still floating around. My wife and I also sent a $3000 check to our daughter and son-in-law in Lakewood Village Texas, three weeks ago. It still hasn’t shown up. Just venting. Another crappy run part of government.

But…but if the government wasn’t in charge of sending all our mail, how would mail get sent? A society of free people could never figure out how to do it on their own.

Have you seen the quality of employee the post office hires? While it's not all (Dan), most I've had the displeasure of dealing with couldn't find their ass with one hand much less two. Most self entitled, lazy and worthless people I've ever dealt with but that would describe most government employees.

Thank God the poor quality of government employees can only be found at the postal service and every other government department is staffed with extreme competence. Can you imagine the corruption if every governmental agency was filled with postal service quality employees?

Almost like not being able to fire employees leads to poor performing employees.

I buy and sell a lot online and its gotten worse this past year. 1 out of 3 packages that I am waiting on will get stuck somewhere and sit for a week to two weeks and these are Priority Mail Rate Packages not snail mail. Priority mail is more expensive and has a delivery date of 3 to 4 days and the rates just keep going up and up.
So I have to call my local post office, the company or person I bought it from wasting my time to try and locate it and get it moving again. Talk to any retired postal employees and they will tell you why its like thia and they will tell you they saw it coming.

I have many many more bad experiences with the Postsl Service. Too many to list.
