U.S. Open Championships April 23rd-27th

US Open Senior pre-seeds are out. Plott moved up to 92kg, so that will reduce the Cowboy friendly fire a little.

Fix (2) and Forrest (6) could meet in the semis. Joey McKenna (1) and Carter Young (7) are on opposite sides. Zahid Valencia (2) and Brayden Thompson (7) could meet in the quarters.

Other seeded Cowboys are Hamiti (2), Plott (5), Traub (4), and Wyatt (2).

So correct me if I’m wrong but Vega, Dee, Robideau, Ryder, and Ross will not be competing this week correct?

They will compete at the U20 Team Trials in June?

Where will brackets be? Not seeing anything on track or Flo arena.
Brackets will be at USA Bracketing. You have to register a free account to use it

Haven't heard whether Ryder is competing this summer, but the others you mentioned are competing this weekend in the U20 Open. This list of our guys is up to date

Correct, USA bracketing is the only source. We have used it for our state qualifiers here in Ohio, it’s got pros and cons just like any of them. The state association is really pushing it and so it’s all coming from the top. After the creator sold track wrestling to Flo, he created USAB lots of similarities but still a lot to be desired.

Does anyone here know anything about Alex Lobdell? Apparently he’s competing for CWC in the U15 Greco Roman tournament. Just took 5th
Damn lol, he’s probably in 6th grade, I’ve seen him at a few the big youth tournaments around the state over the past year or so, I think is actually from Texas if I’m remembering the right kid.

Interesting that Jax is wrestling in the senior event and Bo is wrestling in the U20 event. I’m pretty sure Bo can compete on the senior level as easy as Jax.
He could still challenge at the WTT. I stole this list of qualification criteria from the Intermat forums

Wrestlers who meet the following criteria will qualify for the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament:
a) 2023 Senior Men’s Freestyle World Team Member
b) 2024 Senior Men’s Freestyle National Team Member
c) 2024 U23 Men’s Freestyle World Medalist
d) 2024 U20 Men’s Freestyle World Medalist
e) 2024 U17 Men’s Freestyle World Champion (age eligible)
f) November 2024 Armed Forces Men’s Freestyle World Medalist
g) November 2024 Bill Farrell International highest placing (top 4) U.S. athlete, who has yet to qualify, will earn a spot in the 2025 World Team Trials Challenge Tournament
h) February 2025 UWW Medalists at Ranking Series events #1 & #2
i) March 2025 NCAA I top 3 place finisher
j) April 2025 Senior Men’s Freestyle U.S. Open Championships - top 7 place finisher per weight class
k) May 2025 Senior Pan American Championships Medalist

Pretty cool happenings over in the Greco bracket. A father and son (both named Aliaksandr Kikiniou) have made the finals. The son at 72kg and the father at 77kg. Definitely rooting for them both today.
Very cool. Both have coached my son. They are good people. Poway, CA has a powerhouse program. My son and I always wear our OSU Wrestling gear at their events. Always promoting and recruiting!

So annoying, the U.S. Open is one of the premier wrestling events in the world and this is all they have for fans to try and follow along?
Maybe the best option is to use the My Wrestlers function. Hit Edit Wrestlers and then manually add each one. As you add them, make sure to turn on the slider for Mat Assignments notifications (you can also turn on Results notifications). I think the notification only appears on the website, but you can choose to pay for text message notifications as well.

Additionally, guys you've added into My Wrestlers will be highlighted in yellow on the Bout Board and Dashboard pages.

Note for adding My Wrestlers, I think only wrestlers who have weighed in are available to add, so you won't be able to add our U20 guys until tomorrow if I'm correct.

Awesome, this definitely helps. I take back some of my disparaging comments, except it’s still lame that we have to pay for text notifications.

Carter Young beats Luke Schroeder 12-2. TD to leg lace with 3 turns, gave up exposure while working for the TD, then got 2 exposure and 2 TD (I think. Still learning FS rules). 0:49

You can also just follow the Cowboy rtc instead of following each wrestler. I'm getting mat assignments emailed instead of text. It's bs that they want$6 to get text alerts.

Hamiti on deck and Mower in the hole on Mat 4. Jersey Robb on deck on Mat 8.

Cutter gets the 15-5 tech in about 5:20 over Ethan Basile.
