You are spot on. I don't have high expectations of Trump. That's sad to say. But he has been working on things that are of interest to me, so I'm willing to hold my nose and hope for success on those few issues. The rest is what it is.
I hope the Democratic Party can put forth an electable centrist candidate in 2020. I feel all out of sorts supporting the Republican agenda, but it's the only one that seems to represent me at this moment. If they rid themselves of the influence of the religious right, I might be all in.

And it's weird that the special counsel charged Flynn for lying but the FBI didn't seek charges on Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin for lying. They told Peter Strzok that they had no knowledge of the Queen's secret server despite evidence that they knew all about the Queen's secret server. Must have been due to the immunity deals they had despite being targets of the investigation. I'm sure that's routine and intellectually honest too.
He was dismissed in August. Why he was dismissed just came to light a few days ago with no thanks to Team Mueller.

Flynn didn't get charged for merely "lying" he got charged with lying to the FBI in lieu of various more serious crimes. Lying isn't a crime.
