Most of the conservatives on the board aren't conservatives -- they fall for demagoguery, reverse positions on a dime depending on charisma of the messenger, always go for the economic elitist/corporate agenda, and are all about government interference and corruption (See Biff).

If Trump meets with Un in unilateral talks, there are a ton of political pitfalls that could happen. Huge upside but also horrible downside.

It’s still shocking after all these years how consistently wrong you are.
Latter before the former and I agree. We are there to also be on China’s doorstep which I’m not sure I fully understand how strategically important that is.
That is a strategic decision of the 21st century. China is on a mission to dominate the South China Sea and regain control over Taiwan. I am not sure that we should fight them over that. No vital US interests are involved. Do we want to be an Empire? What advantage do we gain that is not absolutely temporary?
Our interests are retaining Hawaii and defending the territorial integrity of Japan, the Philippines and Australia. Nothing more.
Avoid war by letting China expand as it wishes in its backyard. Hope for change.

I can’t answer a lot of that. Too much nuance and what is our 50 - 100 year plan? China does want an empire. They are having their way in Africa right now. Do we care? More stuff I don’t know.
Maybe we should let China take care of the Middle East. Lol. I'm not sure of that, but something to ponder.
I would think they would want to test their troops in that arena but I think they like watching us be bogged down and spend resources.
