This was the over under I predicted. Off by weeks but my belief then was that the "charm offensive" would lead to direct talks.
IMO that is the right thing, question at that point was would DJT spin it as his victory - which is happening ITT or would he say something stupid to derail talks. Kudos to 45 for doing the correct thing.

The DPRK has been willing to talk with the US in the past, the problem has always been , past US administrations have always insisted on multilateral talks with them, we have always insisted that S. Korea, Japan Russia and China be involved and the DPRK has always said no. Each time in the past when we have met alone with them and came to a deal , we would lift sanctions and shortly after they would ignore whatever agreement we had......that happened twice, from then on ( I guess until now) we had always insisted on the other countries being involved with the idea being it would be more difficult for them to back out if those other countries were alos involved
