Thoughts About Hillary In 2020

I have been seeing speculation that Hillary is ramping up her machine to run for President in 2020. I find it hard to believe that she could be so blinded by ambition. Obama humiliated her followed by Trump. The pain suffered by Trump’s victory over her has to have cut to the bone.

She assumed she would be coronated in 2016. She had waited patiently, and for the most part graciously for what she was sure would be her turn.

One of the primary things about her getting the Democrat nomination in 2016 was that she sucked up all the money. No one could oppose her because all the big donors flocked to her. They assumed she would be the next President as well. No one else (save Bernie) could get any traction.

But it seems obvious to most of us her window has shut. Very few people on the Democratic team want her to run. She’d just muck up the works even worse than before. She has to know that. I don’t think she’s particularly intelligent, but she has to know her time has come and gone.

Which leads me to try and figure out what she’s up to. I wonder if she thinks by tossing her hat in the ring this early she might attract a significant amount of donor money so that she can broker who will be the next nominee. She could swing deals with a particulate candidate or two in which she gives some of her money to their campaign in exchange for something she wants.

We all know what she wants is power. Could she be angling to get a potential Democrat President so beholden to her that she could call some of the shots from behind the scenes?

Food for thought. I’m curious what those of you on the left think,

I'm with Her. ---->

Go Hilly!

I'm ashamed to admit I had a wet dream about this exact scenario. For the love of cute puppies, Hillary, please try a third time. If the current slop that is the Democratic party isn't dead by 2020, she's the executioner. Being relegated to complete irrelevance is the only thing that can possibly change the Democratic party back into something to consider.

I believe they have revamped how the Super Delegates work for the next election.

Hildebitch, like Biden, are both past their prime (assuming they had one). Both are bored and boring. They are considering running again because they believe their own bullshit. Neither are interested in fixing the problems our country faces, only is dictating their twisted personal beliefs and enriching themselves especially Hildebitch, who is no different than any African despot who has raped their countries.

Very few people on the Democratic team want her to run.

I don't know if this statement is true. Sure, there are Democrats who don't want her to run. But then there are Democrats that would support her if she ran in 2020. I saw a recent poll of Democrats that had her second to Biden in terms of potential support for 2020.

I don’t think she’s particularly intelligent

Really? I understand that you may not support her politics, but there is no doubt that Clinton is intelligent.

If Biden runs, Clinton won't run. Even if Biden doesn't run, I think it is highly doubtful that Clinton runs. Sure, she and her PAC will be active in supporting Democrats this year, which shouldn't surprise anyone.

And the notion that she is "angeling to get a potential Democrat President so beholden to her that she could call some of the shorts from behind the scenes" is humorous.

Here is a recent 2020 power rating that I tend to agree with at this point. I wouldn't place Sanders behind Gillibrand though and Holder may be a little too high. Keep an eye on Harris.

Really? Why is that far fetched? She had an entire political party beholden to her.

I never said it was far-fetched, I said it was humorous.

Clinton will have influence with any potential Democrat who is elected in 2020. She doesn't have to angle for anything. She has earned that influence. There is no need for her to scheme.

And yes, I am sure there are those she would like to see win the nomination over others. She may even endorse someone early on. That is just politics though.

She has earned that influence.
How has she earned that influence? Her brand of leadership has been rejected twice, once during primaries and once in the presidential election. Her "leadership" of the DNC in 2016 was an abysmal failure. You might still be doe eyed about her, but I think you'll find more people rejecting her influence in 2020. The only thing she's good for now is comedy, raising some money, and Republican victory.

How has she earned that influence?

Well, let's see. She was First Lady of the United States (and her husband is a former President). She was a United States Senator from New York. She was Secretary of State. She was the first woman presidential nominee of a major political party in this country's history and she won the popular vote in that election (65.8 million Americans voted for her). She has earned political influence due to her accomplishments.

I understand you don't like her politically. And therefore you feel the need to disparage her accomplishments, attack her personally, etc. Still, the fact remains, she doesn't have to scheme at this point to gain influence. Nor is it some evil conspiracy that she would have influence.

She didn’t build that on her own. She just happened to catch the right rising star.

As much as I would love her to be the nominee, ain’t going to happen. Her candidacy would immediately kill off The alleged dem/lib enthusiasm dripping from the ceiling and it would definitely siphon off votes to any 3rd party socialist/commie that runs. Not sure how many big donors would pitch in either after that turd of a campaign she fortunately ran last time.

The only caveat would be is if Trump wins on tariffs, NK, more tax cuts and so on, they might sacrifice her instead of pouring money and effort into a “new face” that would have a better chance in 2024.

No she didn't. No one accomplishes all that she has accomplished without help and support.

Both her and her husband were rising political stars, and together, they created an impressive political partnership.

You've painted a perfect picture of cronyism, not earned influence. Titles don't equal accomplishment. What has she actually done to earn influence?

No, cronyism is how you choose to interpret her accomplishments due to your political bias against her. Again, her accomplishments have earned her influence, whether you want to admit it or not.

I see CDS is strong in you. It even made you vote for Sanders, haha.

“...there is no doubt Clinton is intelligent.”

I didn’t say she isn’t intelligent. I said she isn’t “particularly” intelligent. Through most of her political career she has been portrayed as one of the smartest women alive. That’s something I’ve never understood. She completely botched her attempt at national healthcare. She was divisive as First Lady, demanding that we accept her as co-President with Bill. She moved to New York where she was guaranteed a Senate seat, and then had no accomplishment as a Senator. She was dutifully dispatched by Obama, who Bill thought should be fetching their coffee. And then bartered her way onto Obama’s cabinet where she was a disaster as Secretary of State (with the exception of being exceptionally corrupt). She ignominiously lost to Trump because she ran one of the most incompetent campaigns one can imagine. So, my question for you is to show me an example of her high intelligence.

these two will remain married for the rest of their lives...they will never divorce. The rule of law will keep them together forever. I'm sure the attorneys on here know the rule of law I'm speaking of.

@my_2cents those aren’t accomplishments, they are job titles.

First Lady, she did nothing to get this one other than stay with Bill.

Senator, her last name got her elected. As Senator, what did she accomplish?

SoS, The party forced Obama’s hand here to give her this. In this role, what did she actually accomplish?

Presidential candidate, the party cleared the path for her nomination and she almost lost to a senile socialist from Vermont. She then lost to Donald Trump.

Her life story is a series of gifts.
