Tennessee was up 30-0 in the first quarter and kicked an onside kick. Ended the quarter up 37-0 (most points in a quarter in school history). They had 283 yards of offense after one quarter. Kent State had -29... NEGATIVE 29!
The announcers said that the coaches mentioned to them before the game that they were practicing the onside kick & planned to use it tonight to get it on tape... but if I were the Kent State coach I would absolutely be having words with Heupel after the game.
They're now up 44-0 two minutes into the second quarter, btw.
