At 10 on the shot clock, Ford is still holding Griffin. He has his hand up telling him not yet. Not until the game clock gets to 10 does the offense designed in the TO begin. Problem is a roughly 3 second difference between the two: shot clock was now at 7. We put ourselves into a hole as we started the play too late.
I believe Ford was watching the wrong clock and believed he had more time. His reaction after the shot clock violation really looked as if he didn't realize the situation.
