Rasmussen: Trump's Approval Rating Rises After DC Protests

From the link:
The Rasmussen poll, one of the most accurate polls of the 2020 election, finds President Trump’s approval is actually rising after Wednesday‘s protests.

As Democrats move to impeachment and some establishment Republicans call for the 25th Amendment to remove Trump, the poll finds 48% approve of the President’s job performance.

A source close to the polling firm tells Newsmax that the rolling survey saw Trump’s approval soar to 51% on Thursday night.

Trump’s approval has been up overall, jumping from 45% just before Christmas.

“Americans are disgusted that cities burned for months and Washington and the media did nothing,” our source says, “But they still like Trump.”

I mean this in the kindest, most benign way. I don’t think you know Donald Trump personally, but you have to be the best friend he has on the planet. Your mourning for his loss of power is truly impressive. I’m not sure which stage of grief you are in, but I would guess you are stuck somewhere between denial and anger. It will be interesting to observe at what point you finally achieve acceptance.

It's already established how big of a phony and clueless troll you are around here. You don't need to prove that any further, OK Dan? As to your "at what point" comment, I've already made that very clear on this board going back several weeks. That said, I find it flattering that you find me, a commoner of no importance, to be so influential as to live in your head like this. You're wasting your time with me, but I sure don't want to let go of the exhilarating power you give me.

Like I said, you appear to be stuck between denial and anger. Probably a little more on the anger category. Reaction to grief is fascinating to observe. Eventually you need to let go of the anger and accept the loss or it will consume you. Anger is an emotional reaction and is perfectly natural. But it restricts your ability to act rationally. And right now this country needs people to think and act as rationally as possible if we are going to counter the leftist onslaught that is about to be brought down upon us. Trump lost. Almost everybody on this board preferred Trump to one degree or another, me included. But it is already time to put Trump’s loss in the rear view mirror and gird our loins for battle with the leftist hoard. We can’t afford distractions. Hanging on to anger over the election is a huge distraction.

What a clueless, no-discernment jackass.

You missed the OP’s point. The movement is still there.

And you still don’t really get it. Trump didn’t create the movement, Trump rode the movement.

You’re probably right. I have always thought I got it, but this thread and your comment have made me question whether I get it or not. Be certain that I want to get it, that’s partly why I participate on this board. So with complete sincerity I would request that you answer some questions for me, help to bring me up to speed.

You say the movement preceded Donald Trump, he just caught the wave. What is the movement? How far in advance of Trump’s emergence did it spring to life? What exactly does the movement stand for? What are its philosophical underpinnings, the irreducible primaries from which it rises? From which philosophers does it spring?

I have observed that political movements come in two basic forms. Politics is a subset under the umbrella of philosophy.

One type of movement, the ones that last for any length of time, are solidly based on principles from which its adherents refuse to compromise, and it is usually well organized and coherent, and survives for generations through multiple leaders/applications. Marxism is such an example. As irrational and convoluted and evil as it is it has lasted to this day via multiple iterations and leaders (which have been disastrous without exception).

The other type of movement is based solely on the concept of a strong man, a leader who promises to save society through his sheer determination, the caveat being society must comply with his every demand. He is presented as a savior of sorts, and his authority is to be unquestioned, his proclamations to be carried out without reservation. Usually a strong man movement dies when he does. Sometimes, take North Korea as an example, it may be a strong family not just one person, but eventually someone in the family is no longer up to the task and the movement perishes.

So can you tell me which example does DJT’s movement fall under? If it’s the first, which I suspect is what you would argue, what is the philosophy involved? I mean no particular disrespect to the man - I preferred him over Biden - but all I have seen him articulate are shallow bromides like “America First” and “Make America Great Again.” I have not witnessed him say anything beyond shallow slogans. I do not know what are the principles of the movement which has preceded him and which he represents. Or for that matter what the movement is to be called.

So I ask again - in all sincerity - what movement’s wave did he catch, what is its history, who are the philosophers that have created the bedrock upon which it stands? I ask because I truly do not know what movement Trump represents.

He caught the wave of traditional Americans. When he came down that escalator let it be known that he was the polar opposite of political correctness, my decision was made.

Point being, we were waiting for a candidate who thinks the way we do and fights the way we fight. Limbaugh made a similar point on his show this week. He doesn’t make people think what they think, people support his show because of what they already think.

OK, but what does that mean? What political philosophy do traditional Americans espouse? Is it solely anti-political correctness? Being against a cultural insistence, while frequently necessary, is not a philosophy that can last long. Hell, it’s not a philosophy at all, just a talking point.

I understand that Trump upset the establishment apple cart - and I applaud the effort. But clearly the establishment has chewed him up and spit him out. So where does his movement go from here? The man is toast, you should be able to see that. But you insist the movement persists. So what’s the plan and who is going to direct it’s implementation? A movement usually has an organization of people with various positions of authority. Does Trump’s movement include such people? I ask this in all sincerity.

Means jack shit. Polls worthless. We had a huge poll a few weeks ago and Trump lost. And all Trump had to do was retain voters he had in 2016 that left him by simply communicating better.

The lefties suffered from what was called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” What should we call what 22LR suffers from?

May end up being President of his cell block

Could you give this to the Royals for me?
And have one for yourself!

TDS is a long term illness for which there is no cure, see lefties still suffering from it here after 4 yrs.
22 is not suffering from a long term illness.

I do not think 22 is suffering an illness or a derangement. But he is unquestionably suffering from grief.

Way to early to tell. Give it 4 more yrs. Possibly 2 when Mala takes over, them maybe HDS?

Fair enough, but I’d say early results are in, and I’m looking pretty on the ball right now.

I don’t remember a Capitol invasion two weeks before Trump’s inauguration. *shouldershrug*

Oh wait, whats this?

On November 9–12, 2016, protests occurred in Oakland, California against the election of Donald Trump. While originally peaceful, these protests became violent, with protesters lighting trash cans and cars and a building on fire and smashing store windows and throwing bottles at police.

And this?

Maybe not invading the Capitol but losing their shit none the less.

It's getting really creepy, how you follow me around and talk about me so much. I'm not a little boy, so you should have zero interest in me.

Nothing I have said has been intended as a personal am insult against you. I regret you are taking it that way. Anger is a perfectly normal reaction when suffering an emotional loss. It’s apparently one of the stages one goes through as part of the grieving process. It has seemed to me you have taken Trump’s demise very personally and your anger is hard for you to let go of. Pointing that out to you might in some small way help you in finally coming to acceptance and moving on with your life. If you continue to remain fixated on Trump’s loss/your anger it eliminates one more person in fighting back against the long desired statist plans advocated by the Democrats/leftists/progressives. We need everyone we can get to join this fight. At some point you have to realize you’re throwing a tantrum that benefits no one.

Are either one of those an invasion of the Capitol building?

If any part of the USA is worthy of an invasion, it’s Capitol Hill. Those cocksuckers were in lockdown for a few hours. My state was in lockdown for six weeks. Some of my countrymen have been in lockdown for 10 months. Fvck the Capitol building.
And more than half of the folks who work there for ‘all us subjects’ of America 🇺🇸
Its invaded everyday by criminals. Whats your point?
How can citizens “invade” their own Capitol, unless the occupants thereof view them as outsiders?

You guys are right.

I had it all wrong.

Those folks I watched on Wednesday weren’t criminals, weren’t violent, weren’t looting.....he’ll they were righteous Patriots.

I’ve seen the light.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Don’t be such a drama queen. The only real violence was committed by a trigger happy suit.
