Shooting @ Louies on Hefner

Just a sad sad deal. This is why school system should focus on the physical, psychological, and mental well being of children.

We spend too much time on the mental (academic aspect) and the physical aspect is only catered to if they are what society considers the "real athletes".

There is very little learning or discuss on what it means to be a good person. It either occurs at home or in prek and after that we see the deterioration of so many.

I hear what you are saying but I don't think that the public school system is the proper place to teach those types of lessons. You teach them what it means to be a good student and classmate. But not what it takes to be a good person.

Yes there is some overlap there. But I don't want the government to take over yet another aspect of what good parenting is. What you propose will just lead to even more family disconnect.

Totally disagree. The gospels and teachings of Jesus are great morality lessons that should be taught but without the need for the learner to state their loyalty to the faith.

There is so many universal values that apply no matter your religious beliefs or non-religious beliefs.

Saying students who spend over 1/3 of their childhood in school shouldn't be receiving teachings on how to respect, love, and listen to others while also learning communication skills of their own is absurd.

There universal human truths aren't bound by the government, good parenting, or anything yet we avoid these teachings because most adults are afraid to 1. Open themselves up to these truths or 2. "Upset the apple cart" of our current societal ways

Precisely.

Even if a secular version of fruit of spirits...
There are so many non religious ways to teach our children how to grow up to be good humans who help those who need it most.

Instead most of the well patented and well to do children are typically those who torment those less forutunate and exlcude those who act, feel, or communicate differently.

When almost every school shooter is a troubled kid who is/was an outcast and many those with mental issues are those who had no parental support and abandoned the academic and athletic systems of our schools

This guy is a case study in what the real problems are that are creating shooters.

It is glaring and obvious.

It is so frustrating to see leftists using these events as an excuse to gradually disarm us instead of solve the problem.

The systematic destruction of the family and throwing psychotropic pills at these lonely broken people is to blame.

My wife is an elementary school teacher and I don't want her to usurp a parental peragorative. I'm guessing you'd be upset if a government official started indoctrinating your child.

Again, teach them to be good students and classmates is far enough.

Oh, and I didn't say anything about religion.
