Scuffle day 2

I just saw Harding win 3 to 2 to get to the finals. What a comeback compared to Reno for Harding
Gfeller beat Karrem from Lehigh 2 to 1. He was behind 1 to 0 and took neutral. He got the takedown with about 40 seconds left and rode him out. Very good win and faces Penn. St freshman Nick Lee in the finals

Our wrestlers that are healthy seem to be doing well. Hope the team in Italy is healthy. It sucks to travel when not feeling well.

It appears that he pulled down to 125 for the OCU Open and the Journeyman Classic. His results at the Journeyman were not good. Maybe he belongs at 133.

Speaking of Harding he is about to wrestle in the finals right now. I would really like to see Gfeller beat Lee from Penn. St. with both being true freshmen.

Harding lost to Mueller 10 to 0 and it was difficult to watch with Harding being ridden for 6 and a half minutes. Gfeller comes up next.

Ran into a monster top guy in the finals but a nice tournament by GWH. Mueller is tough. Also a nice showing by little Heil, makes the finals at Reno and SS.

Speaking of tough Retherford and Nolf are tough and nobody seems to be able to wrestle with them. I'll be glad when they graduate but they likely will replace them like they did with Taylor and the 84 pounder.

Marstellar takes 3rd after dropping his semifinal. I know he had some troubles both here and in PA, but I always liked that kid. Glad he's starting to have some success.

Man there is going to be two very talented wrestlers watching from the bench next year when trying to project 125-149. Picc, Fix, Brock, Boo, Geo and G.

Gfeller looked good. The plan going into the tournament for Penn State was to pull the redshirt on Lee as he appears to be their best option at 141. Will be interesting to see what happens now.

As I recall Lee was a pretty high recruit compared to Gfeller and the fall was not really a fluke. I like the way our coaching staff is helping guys improve.

141 is a very deep weight class and it would be very difficult for Lee to score significant points at Nationals.

If you remember, Pat Smith got pinned as a true freshman by Dan Russell from Portland State. All is not lost for PSU. But, watching the replay, I think Kaden has proven he can compete with the elite guys when it is his turn.

The more guys we have that can beat their guys, the better it is for us!

I would think they would use the year to shirt picc and I imagine Geo sits.

A RS for Picc makes since if Fix can still make 125 next year (I think he can). Who then goes 133? I have heard Kaid needs to bump up.

If I am Boo I am changing my workout and diet to be a 149 the rest of the way. Good problems to have!

Picc has already redshirted.

I thought he started his true freshman year? I must be mis remembering.
Picc has RS already and Fix is already having trouble making 125. I'll say Brock odd man out. Picc, Fix, Gfeller, Lew, Geo, Joe, 174 Rogers or Jacobe Smith. I have questions about were little Joe's ( not little any more)mind is at this RS year. Wrestlers we're sick at Scuffle, one of them did compete at 184, probably shouldn't have (also was cutting to make weight during this time) but was a trooper for the team.

Kaid vs G will be interesting. Hard to write off Brock as he is one of the top nuetral wrestlers in the country and finished 5th at NCAA's as a freshman. Not making the very tough cut might help his top and bottom game as well.

It will be interesting as we have so much talent 125 through 149. Looking at wrestle stats we have some guys that you do not hear much about in the top 42 that are three guys down from starting.
#42 Schumacher, Joe at 141.

Few different replies...

Flo had Lee at #9 PFP and Kaden at #15 PFP. They both wrestled 138 in their final year of HS. They had Lee projected to 141 and Kaden projected to 149.

The Wrestlestat roster is outdated. I don't believe Joe Schumacher is still on the team (along with a few others). OKstate.com has the correct listing.

I would be very surprised if Kaid is not part of the lineup at either 133 or 141 next year. No doubt someone will be squeezed out, but I just can't see it being Kaid. Also, we need to put some guys on the Derek White eating/lifting plan to get bigger. I'd rather see Kaden fight for the 157 spot next year than cut and compete for 141.
