Isis is run by Baathists and they are gaining huge national exposure even if they are losing fighters and territory. The Vietcong showed how to defeat America and it just takes a refusal to give up, hiding among civilians and attacks that serve as media propaganda instead of traditional strategic interest.

Sorry but that guy went full potato for part of that. Without our invasion Saddam is likely not removed from power yet, Al Queda in Iraq is never formed, and Assad doesn't have a way to redirect islamists. He's probably still in the same boat with rebellion, just earlier.

The only good thing about Saddam was that he was a stabilizing force. Hell, ISIS wouldn't have supported him and I think he would be fighting, or on his way to fighting, a rebellion as well. I don't think our actions created ISIS but we certainly did Al Queda in Iraq. We did the dirty work for ISIS by removing an eventual target. With ISIS we just keep throwing gasoline on the fire.

We didn't create ISIS, we just gave their originally named groups weapons in Libya, Syria, and Iraq (premature unrecommended troop withdrawal in support of legacy not reality) and gave them support by bombing the shit out of the government that was battling them in Libya. You know, the "opposition."
