The Cowboys used nine hits, a homer from John Littell, and some quality pitching from Noah Sifrit and Peyton Battenfield to win 3-1.

Reza Aleaziz started and battled wildness but managed four innings before leaving the game in the top of the fifth.

Sifrit and Battenfield showed some grit by battling and throwing quality pitches to keep the Bears stranding runners due to walks and two OSU errors.

The three pitchers for the Pokes walked Ten Bears, way too many, but found a way to pitch their way out of jams those free passes caused. That ability for both relievers to get big outs was a highlight of this game and a positive development for the bullpen.

The bats had some life too outhitting the Bears 9-4 with several Pokes getting hits with the big blow from John Littell in the eighth to give the Pokes a little breathing room.

The Pokes will travel to Austin for a weekend series to open Big Twelve play( what a shock, the Pokes start conference play on the road) and hope the new roles for the pitching staff can solidify and help the team succeed.
