Pence

He's the leader of the party and he believes himself to be a representative of Democrats.

Yes he is the chair of the DNC. That doesn't mean Democrats automatically agree with him on everything, as you even grudgingly acknowledged.

Look around you. The party that claims to embrace diversity is doing everything but that lately.

I did look around. Hence the reason I left the Republican Party and became a Democrat.

As for diversity, I'll take the Democrats' brand of diversity over the Republican brand any day.

Am I the only one who has no clue what is going on in this thread?

Essentially, CBrad thinks Democrats should become more like Republicans and Republicans should remain Republicans.

He also seems to be concerned about which posters are supposedly teaming up with who for some reason.

Fair enough. :) We are talking about predicting the future and we both know how fallible that process is. :)

I'd be curious, what percentage of voters do you consider 'non-partisan'? I peg it about 12-15%. And I base that on the movement percentages needed to shift states like Pennsylvania and Michigan to the Republican camp. Also in the last election, Ohio went 8 points Red which if my memory servers was a 5 or 6 point shift from '12. The challenge with this is that the shifts fail to account for the absolute worst possible candidates (on both sides) running which may have decreased people's adherence to the 'party' vote and thus skew my estimates higher than reality.
3-5% and most of those people are too unorthodox to be reached intentionally. I think most of the difference in the last election and 2012 was Trump mobilizing people who don't traditionally vote, and Hillary doing next to nothing to mobilize her more marginal voters, rather than a huge chunk of Obama voters switching to Trump.

Your team cheats to put an annointed one at the top of its ticket. Very democratic. But as you alluded to earlier in the thread, the will of the people doesnt matter in the face of simply acquiring power.

You just berned all your Bernie cred.

I'm sure you do. Intolerance is the new tolerance for the left.

Your Twitter has me laughing today though. Nice work.

Are you really just pissed that the DNC is corrupt and unfair to Democratic Sociallist? If so then we can agree.

Know how I know when you're lying?

(Hint: It's a trick question)

Actually, from a process standpoint, yeah I am.

Almost nothing is more important than the integrity of the process.

Never said that. Actually said the complete opposite. Don't let the truth stand in the way of your silliness though.

I am. They were all in on trotting a sloppy has been out to represent. That was a losing move in 2008. Nothing in the tea leaves indicated it would be a good move 8 years later even against a crazy man. But gosh dammit, even if she couldn't win outright, she had enough super delegates to push her corpse over the line.

I am pissed too, but the net result is the centrist Dems keeping the Left out of power rather than visa versa.

Even though a few Repubs would have to vote along side Dems to actually force the impeachment, its not the Repubs talking impeachment. Not even McCain, who is really a War-mongering, pro-life Democrat, is the definition of establishment and I believe truly hates Trump after the 'not a hero' BS, is willing to say impeach". Impeachment will be associated with the Dems. And it will cause the market to fall. And thus any smart Republican (are there many left?) will immediately run on the platform that Dem's obstructionism is what is causing the economic consequences. There will always be partisan lines (why I explicitly stated the non-SJW Dems), but fighting Trump and being blamed for a market crash doesn't strike me as the way to win back the 'working-class' voter who has a decent job and a small 401k. The Dems also won't be able to run against Trump's record of not achieving his campaign promises or in improving the lives of the 'rust belt' because the Repubs will be able to clearly show that it was the Dems who obstructed those reforms or actions (rather than simply letting Trump fail on his own).

Chaffetz is kind of circling around it right now. I know he's not running for reelection, but it's early....plenty of other Republican sharks that may just be circling and waiting for the water to be sufficiently chummed.

She also won 3.7 million more votes than Sanders

With that said, there is no doubt many at the DNC favored Clinton. I don't think that was surprising to anyone, even Sanders.

What Sanders was able to accomplish though with the already built-in disadvantages was impressive to observe.

It wasn't just "favored." The interim chair was busted giving her debate questions ahead of the debate among other things. Bernie just rolled over and took it up the ass though. I unfriended him on Facebook for being a giant cuck. I can't be associated with that level of ankle grabbing.

I haven't read all this thread yet but I think it is funny when people talk about how someone is a social conservative and how that is bad.

True social conservatives have standards and they are based on like 4000 years of human history and their own core beliefs.

Like me however most social conservatives don't care what their neighbors are doing in their house as long as they don't bring it out into the street an flaunt it in our faces.

This is in comparison to the so called tolerant left who want to control every aspect of everyone's life every minute of the day. From what you eat to what you will be doing for work to what doctors you see IF they deem you are worthy of the particular reason why you need to go see a doctor.

I would much rather have a social conservative in office than something from the left.

Not bad at all.

The authoritarian social conservative is the boogeyman Dems have wet dreams about on the reg.

I am a liberal and I don't think it is bad if one is a social conservative. I actually understand where most social conservatives are coming from in their thinking and I can respect their viewpoint (even when I do disagree). I also have shared concerns about abortion with social conservatives.

I don't support any of this. Yes, I support universal health care because I want all people to have access to health care regardless of ability to pay. I don't believe anyone should be told what they should eat, but I have no problem with educational programs that seek to promote healthy eating habits. And I surely don't support controlling every aspect of everyone's life every minute of the day.

You seem to have liberalism confused with authoritarianism, which btw, exists on both the right and the left.

Ahh I remember it like it was yesterday, the tolerant left passed sodomy laws, miscegenation laws, gay marriage bans, abortion bans, alcohol and drug prohibition. Fortunately socially conservatives were there all along fighting for my right to do what I please in my own home.

The year of our Lord is 2017, and Pilt has yet to reach the humor level of @HighStickHarry or even @syskatine

He also still seems to believe that these 2 are still on the tube.

I dunno, Brad... he nailed that one pretty good. Your provocation of putting Harry and I in the same sentence is noted and filed away.

Do you remember who it was that put gay marriage on the ballot in Oklahoma a few years ago? And do you remember who showed up in droves to vote against it? And do you remember what happened at the polls that year?

Those conservatives must be exhausted, working so hard to make sure people can live how they want.
