The only people that have ever budged on a conversation towards calling bullshit on their team are conservatives.
Let's sample your favorite free speech wonders tech has brought you:
- Porn on demand
- Message boards
- Easy access to unhinged conspiracy theories
- Mysoginistic rants 140 characters at a time (now available in double the vitriol)
Ironic isn't it. In a thread that ridicules and attempts to marginalize free press we see a weak ass attempt to paint an industry mispercieved to be full of liberals as eroding free speech rights...
Add to that, that same demographic gets a fair share of their info from obscure corners of Reddit and YouTube.
This is why 24/7 is my favorite guilty pleasure.
Are you saying that the majority of journalists are not on the left side of the spectrum or that they aren't trying to erode free speech?
I think that surveys have shown that a majority of professional journalists lean left.
Does it matter which way they lean? Does freedom of the press only apply to "impartial" journos?
I have little doubt that cause driven types, the vast majority of journalist make chump change, are attracted to the career. Those folks may lean one way or another on an arbitrary belief scale. That has zero to do with the principals of a free press.
As to freedom of speech, no commerical entity is obligated to provide a forum for all speech. Period.stand on the corner and give live sermons if Facebook thinks you violate their TOS. Build your own Twitter killer app if you think you have been shadow banned.
