Oops, maybe the tax increase is working in a booming economy!

It’s both true and false. And very complicated.

Without supplemental insurance, medicare is almost worthless. Half (or more) of all doctors won't even accept it giving you a significant rationing effect on care, it doubles the amount of paperwork and review for treatments required, and still leaves you holding a major bill for most treatments unless you've got supplemental coverage plans.

if a health insurance policy is a basic right, and apparently even an obligation, and those that can't afford it according to the gov't should get their insurance subsidized, should those that are unable to afford a firearm be able to get their purchases subsidized?
And cell phones.

"Overall, 87 percent of family medicine physicians are taking new Medicare patients, a bit lower than the 91 percent average among all docs. But among specialists, 99 percent of general surgeons and 98 percent of orthopedic surgeons take new Medicare patients compared to only about 63 percent of psychiatrists."

On Medicare part A a 60 day hospital stay costs $1375.
Medicare part B covers 80% of your medical costs the non hospital part.

You are such a confident liar.

I assume these stats are from Medicare's site? I will freely admit my statement was anecdotal, and these stats surprise me regarding acceptance rates. Each of the last several doctors that I have visited have had signs posted regarding not accepting Medicare patients.

As someone who has been a Medicare recipient for 2 years I had a hard time locating a primary care MD accepting of new patients. The one who had treated my parents for years agreed to take me but I had to beg him. He immediately changed to concierge service and the search was on again. Getting into to see a specialist is no problem.
