Daniel Dennis at 57kg just lost by 10-0 tf to Dubov of Bulgaria who is ranked #2 at this weight according to the announcer.

jB has from Russian head butt scalp wound lot of blood time
Russian up 1-0 on passivity

Blood time killing jB stamina advantage

JB amazing defense on quick whistle Russian deep single to end first

Russian 1-0

He didn't look like himself there. He looked tired early. Russian did a great job of slowing him down. Blood didn't help. Come back and get bronze

I missed the first part of the match but I saw some complaining about the shot clock on social media. Was it legit?

I'm just pissed
Russian didn't do crap but take advantage of the situation.

Passivity point the difference

Russian should have been on clock the second jB went off

I haven't been watching freestyle long at all so I'm sure there are good reasons they do it. It just seems wrong to me the guys who gets the only takedown loses because of being pushed out twice and passivity.

How is John doing on the announcing?

I take it better than our team is wrestling.

Honestly, JB didn't look that great in either of his matches today. He was gassed in both. I thought the difference in his loss was that the Russian was better conditioned. Maybe something is wrong with JB as I've never seen him gas like that.

I don't disagree jB looked gassed
But who was doing all the work down 3-0 and how did it get to 3-0?

The passivity call was BS, but I felt a fresher JB would not have surrendered the pushouts. That's strength and conditioning as well as positioning. It just wasn't his day sorry to say.

And JB is out. I guess this kind of eliminates him from the GOAT conversation. Still an amazing wrestler and a great ambassador for the USA.

Why do you think he was off today?

The only thing that makes sense to me is that he's sick. He looked completely drained of energy from the start of every match. It sucked watching him today.

What Ostate30 said. He acted sick with the energy drain. We've all been there on those days. A stomach bug is nasty on energy. I will be the most surprised person in the world if JB had nothing wrong. That wasn't him out there today.

John's comment seemed like a shot at Burroughs.

I think overall John was extremely complimentary and full of proses for Jordan. He also doesn't pull punches and gave his opinion when asked.

He knows all these guys and coaches and was around them so he has pretty good insight into any situation in Rio.

I thought john made every effort to comment appropriately on a disastrous result
I thought John made great effort to compliment and praise Jordan Burroughs. He also indicated that this Olympics could help Jordan in the long run as it showed him what less than 100% effort could result in. He also said that he was positive that Jordan would come to this same conclusion. He also used Kyle Snyder as an example of what total effort on his part led to and also indicated that when even this total effort was not allowing him to get takedowns he re-doubled his effort and this full on assault broke through the opponent's defenses. Very good interview by John.
