O'Keefe video part 2 is out

For the amount of worship you put into Obama, I'm kinda shocked you have no clue. He didn't bounce around and wasn't poor. From birth until 6 years of age, he lived in Hawaii. From the ages of 6 to 10, he lived in Indonesia with his mother and stepfather. From 10 until graduating high school, he lived with his well off grandparents in Hawaii and attended Hawaii's prestigious Punahou School. Punahou is a private school with a tuition cost for the 2016-17 school year of $22,950.

Hardly the picture of somebody growing up poor. I doubt his school tuition was paid by collecting cans and panhandling.

sys, have you ever heard of this brilliant information machine called Google? You should look into it. Pretty cool stuff. And their stock is awesome to own as well.

Yes, I'm familiar with his bio and he was not a kid of means. He lived in a bad part of town in Harvard Law and finally paid off his student loans from his book proceeds. He attended a great Hawaii high school that was formative. He scrimped to get through college and law school and was a mixed race kid and was passed from mom and dad to grandparents, back to mom and stepdad, then back to grandparents as a child. You don't become POTUS without some great upbringing and that was probably the grandparents, but I don't know. Like he said -- nobody does it all by themself.

He sure didn't have the money, influence or opportunity that Bush or Romney or Bush had, did he? Compare his background with those three.

You alleged he was poor. He wasn't. His grandparents helped support his mother and supported him directly. I don't know how he paid for college, but he apparently managed well to be able to attend Occidental and Columbia followed by Harvard. While living in Indonesia he didn't live in the ghetto. Quite the opposite.

I won't argue the point of the Bushes or the Romneys or the Kennedys or the Kerrys or any of the other of those folks because you are correct. Those people are born into decided advantages. I agree that Obama is "self-made" and didn't have the advantages that many other people in politics enjoy. But there is zero evidence that he grew up poor. If you had said middle class, you'd be factual. If your desired point is simply that he didn't have the advantages, I agree.

Thank you medic. Although I disagree with some of your "facts" I'm just glad that you aren't furious at me. What gives? Did you get to shock someone today? A good Trump poll? Did Russia sink one of our carriers? Why no rage? Should I be worried?

Thank you medic.
You're welcome.

I can't think of a time I've ever been furious over a message board. I used to get really irritated at bullmarket on the OU board at times though.

Did you get to shock someone today?
No. I don't respond to many calls these days. Like you, I'm a desk jobber. But I did take my aunt off life support. It was past time. Modern medicine and all of the effort to keep people alive well past their time pisses me off. I can put my dog out of her misery before life gets too bad. I have to wait to put my aunt out of her misery until it's well past the point of really bad and just dumb to be keeping her alive.

A good Trump poll?
I don't pay much attention to them. But I did see where there was a good Trump poll today. I couldn't care less though. I don't have the time to look at the mechanics of any poll and in this election cycle, traditional polling seems worthless.

Did Russia sink one of our carriers?
If they did, the media is covering it up and Obama is a much bigger pussy than I thought was possible.

Why no rage?
I save my rage for the road.

Should I be worried?
About me? Nah, I'm good. Worried about you? I dunno man. You are a liberal so.....

:D

Sorry for you and your Aunt. That's a hard, hard situation to be in.
Having done what I do for 21 years now, things have become much more logical than emotional in regards to end of life issues. It also helps that she was in the hospital I've worked for for those 21 years and all of her physicians are people I've worked with for years. Takes the second guessing part out. I'm much more fortunate than most in making that decision yesteday.

Thanks for the kind words syskatine.

Here is one of the great lessons of the O'Keefe revelations: there has been nothing organic about any of the Trump protesters from the day he announced his candidacy up to today. To boot, there is no organic support for Hillary Clinton for president, either. All of the true, organic, robust, enthusiastic, strong support belongs to Donald J Trump. Organic versus manufacturered.

Of course the other big revelation is that the DNC is taking people from state to state and/or city to city to vote multiple times so it may not really matter if she really has
support or not.....

Good -- it really is the shits. I'm no good at it. I get mad every time I have to say goodbye to the older generation. My family and older influences are dying off and I hate it every time and get mad at medicine, myself, religion and our inability to just stop aging and dying. I'm still not logical about it. I can't understand why the longevity movement hasn't crossed over into mainstream priority yet. People find comfort in religion and throw their hands up about aging and death, I guess. I just don't get it. I wish more smart people would stop at the anger phase of grief without graduating to bargaining and acceptance so we can actually do something tangible to prevent that awful dynamic. Progress is being made and there's a ton of capital flowing into the issue, but it's taken a long time for people to recognize the issue as a priority.

@syskatine, thanks for the reply. You bring up some very interesting thoughts. I will respond to your post when I'm not so rushed for time, likely tomorrow morning. I'm very interested in people's thoughts on end of life issues.

Damn, your best post ever! A Foval nimrod, Hedley Lamarr and box 13 all rolled into one; I'm sofa king jealous!!:D

For the record and the LBJ clueless, some historical perspective about George Parr/the Duke of Duval County and the miraculous 200 votes from Alice, Tx. that started the sorry bastard's political career:

The Duke's granddaughter was a little sister to my fraternity.
