You have missed my post explaining how MD was clearly the best coach in the playoffs and OKC is overwhelmingly the best team and should win easily. Anything less than winning it all would be an all-time disappointment.

Unfortunately the additional first we got from Boston for Horford was the 16th pick in 2021 — aka Sengun — who we absolutely should have kept but sent to Houston. 😭
We got two more firsts in return, which I believe eventually turned into Ousmane Dieng… but I think everyone in the world would now take Sengun over almost anyone in that draft outside of the top 6-8 guys.
The trade up for 11 wasn’t actually for Dieng. It was for JDub. Supposedly other teams were trying to jump up to get JDub. Presti had two goals get Chet and get JDub. Dieng was just a complete upside flyer. So if you think about it is more of a question of who would you want JDub or Sengun. I would take JDub hands down. Supposedly presti was obsessed with JDub. My guess is the Knicks said well who are you taking at 11……and Presti’s coy answer was Dieng…..just didn’t mention how awesome it is that we have 12 to take JDub.
I also screamed at my tv when I saw the Sengun trade after my victory lap for taking him at 16 lol
The real goal was to secure JDub. Knicks had multiple teams offers on the table. I have heard it from multiple sources that would know.
Something tells me Presti would’ve found a way to jump as high as he needed to, even without the two firsts from Houston for the Sengun trade.
But I’ve said before that I’m actually OK with anything & everything that happened prior to drafting Chet in 2022. Even if that means losing Sengun.
If the 2021 cards didn’t fall EXACTLY the way they did to give OKC the #2 pick in 2022… the future would look a lot different right now.
No. I think Chet and Ihart work great together. Ihart matches up about as well as anyone could with Jokic. Jokic can’t just bully him.

Interesting. Makes me want to ask the question, if the Thunder had to part with either Chet or JDub, which would you rather keep?
personally I would keep Chet. He is a much tougher guy to replace. Not many guys with his offensive ceiling who can get three blocks a game.
Chet has a more unique skill set harder to find, that is also why he went #2.
True. JDub honestly feels more like a guard than a forward watching him play. I still worry about Chet’s super slender frame with injuries and him getting manhandled at the end of games, but his ceiling is off the charts.
Yep JDub has pretty much hit his ceiling. Which is an all star talent so great lol. I think Chet has top 5 player in the nba type ceiling. Very unlikely to hit it, but it’s there.
Chet has a chance to be an all-time elite defender. He has a long ways to go on offense, and I don't really see the potential there that a lot do. He hasn't really developed any post moves and his outside shot is a line drive. His handles are limited as well. He needs to develop that Dirk/KD one foot fadeway shot. Would be unblockable.
Yep very unlikely. He will go down as one heck of a third option at a bare minimum. 90% of the teams out there would kill for Chet.
I thought Shae had reached his pinnacle three years ago and he has gotten better every year. Jdub and Chet haven’t come close to their ceiling .Chet has been held back by missing a year with his foot and half a year with his pelvic fx. He is still a little tentative at times. Both he and Jdub need work on their threes. They have talked ad nauseam about Gordon improving his three point shooting and he has been in the league a hundred years. Wiggins and Wallace can get better, especially Wallace and his shooting. And then there is Ajay with his potential.
He is who I am very interested in and seeing where he fits.
The most important ability is availability, and Chet's already had two serious orthopedic injuries and the wear and tear is just starting. On that basis, it's Jdub for me.
Jdub. Chet is too injury prone and the Thunder could get more for him in a trade.
I think I’d say Chet. Love JDub but we’ve got enough picks stashed to have opportunities to add another young scorer similar to him in the future. Chet has a rare combo of size and ability that doesn’t come around too often.
Would they kill to pay him a Max. That’s the issue. He is gonna get paid max money. Is he going to be worth that or will it cripple your roster?
I hope he makes his potential. But how he is playing in the playoffs right now isn’t worth a max. Not even close. Luckily a decision doesn’t need to be made soon
The foot fx could have been a problem but appears not to be. The pelvic fx was just bad luck and has nothing predisposing most likely.
