Ok State v. Oregon State

The delivery was disrespectful.

AND, on point total, for the team, I believe they’re tied?

But performance wise, Hamiti has the edge. I for one didn’t expect this from either.
Being from the B1Gs, I have followed Hamiti through the years. No disrespect to Hendricksen who is also a fantastic get, but I always thought Hamiti moving to OSU was stealing on your part. Think about it, only two guys could hang with MM last year. Carr and Hamiti. I would suggest that a nearly full feed Hamiti could have beaten MM. He had an incredible first period in that match but because of the cut, ran his tank empty.

Hamiti paired with the new staff is deadly.
Plus being at a weight better suited to him.

We honestly have the second best back half of a lineup in the country. The staff should help Surber a ton too!

65 - 8 to 12 points
74 - 12 to 22 points
84 - 12 to 22 points
97 - 2 to 14 points
WH - 12 to 22 points

That’s 46 to 92 points and if that happens, we are an issue!

How can anyone NOT be even more excited after watching the Cowboys this weekend?

Spratley with two tough wins. Sure, we wanted to see him blow guys out but 125 is crazy tough and especially in the B12 this year. At CKLV 7 of the top 8 will be there. This weekend he has #1 and #2 so personally I think navigating two tight matches is probably been for the best for Troy. I'm going to add in a personal thing here, I'm NOT a fan of Troy's choice for a turn. To dangerous and almost got him in deep sh/t more than once.

As far as 133 I'm definitely up in the air. Both looked solid. Reece showed no weaknesses except for trying something stupid which has been an issue for him in the past. He did something, cant remember exactly what, a throw attempt that wasn't there and had to spin out and run away. Cael showed some real slickness in his TD defense, in trouble one sec and getting a td the next. No wonder DT doesn't like answering questions about this weight.

I though Tagen showed his power and some real aggressiveness. Thats the second cradle Ive seen him go for. He got it at MSU for a pin. IF the dude gets it really locked up his opponents are gonna have hell getting out. Easily top 10 after Vegas.

Carter looks FAST and has a great amount of varied attacks. He's got some sweet go behinds as well. The only thing I see is being a little wild and sloppy here and there. He cleans that up he's gonna be a problem. I expect him to shoot up the rankings after CKLV, hopefully top 10.

Hopefully Teague doesn't get down on himself. We all know he's tough. Gotta figure out a few things but I'm sure DT is all over it. Hopefully we see growth and redemption in Vegas. He could definitely get a rematch there against Oregon State.

Love the coaches had Amine riding more last night after UVU and pushing him to score. The guy has skills, just gotta keep getting everything out of him every match.

Hamiti reminds me of myself. If I was fast, slick and a scoring machine lol.

Plott doing Plott things. Never flashy just tough. Would love to see more varied attacks. Saw a nice blast double besides the patented sweep single.

Please, please, PAH LEEZE let Surber stay healthy. He's fun to watch, has a variety of attacks and can scramble like crazy. Always been a fan of this guy and would LOVE to see him make the podium this year. Glad he's showing everyone what he's capable of.

Wyatt is a beast. He goes hard but he gets going to fast and really gets sloppy sometimes. He's got to slow down and clean up if he's gonna wrestle Saturday night, especially with Gable back. But man its great having WH in the line up and he's gonna score big team points in March obviously.

You may not have asked for it but thats my take anyway 🤣.

Fartz out ✌️

@MALOS may have been onto something with his Hamiti take. I initially took it as a bit of a diss on Plott, but now I’m realizing Hamiti may just be that good. Why the hell didn’t Wisconsin let him go 174 last year??

LOL. Bono would have let Hamiti go any weight he wanted.

He clearly outgrew the weight and wanted to be in a better room. And then he gets DT, Amine and now Zahid. Talk about floating in to the best situation imaginable.

Gotcha gotcha. I thought I had read here (and my memory and message boards are notoriously reliable) that there was some sort of weight-related falling out at Wisco.

I felt much better after watching the replay that was posted on here. All of the guys were active and looking to score even Spratley. I listened to Rex on the radio during the match and it was difficult to maintain a visual image. Those 10-12 seconds of dead air and non-descriptions of TDs left me visually impaired.

Try synching up the live Flo broadcast to Rex, it was a bloody nightmare.

I can't believe any would listen to Rex. I'd rather listen to radio static and just imagine I knew what was going on.

He must have dirt on a board member to still be doing this. It can't be the president cause we have a new one now.

Maybe @MALOS is onto something here with Hamiti 🤷

Chase — let it go. It’s boring material.

Trust me, the reason Plott has picked up his game is because he follows Hamiti. The energy is still on the mat and in the crowds. Not to mention they drill together. These guys are being taught much at this level — they get better my rolling around with talent. Point total means nothing — as the season goes on you will see a lot more from Hamiti — he can score and pin from ANYWHERE. He is the BEST wrestler on the team.

To see how good he is — go watch his tournament match with Messenbrink before he crashed from the weight cut. He can best anyone on any given day.

Hamiti can best anyone on any given day.
That's not really true and I think the world of Dean. Dean is best against guys not as well positioned as him, which is 98% of all competitors. That said, the 2% gives him matchup issues, such as Haines, etc. Dean has two guys at his weight this year which represent matchup issues for him. Can he win? Sure. Are those matchups problematic? Absolutely. That's what the staff have to work on for the next 5 months to get Dean ready. Otherwise, he will be a monster at this weight.

Thought the video was a no go. Blacked out by Flo?

Just take an olive branch and shut up with the antagonist approach.

We’ve got a bet in place, I took Plott, you’ve got Hamiti. I believe in both, you don’t. A bet is a bet and this discussion is over.

Let’s enjoy it!

I'm glad you're here with insights! Hamiti does look awesome. He probably is the best wrestler on the team. Plott probably is growing by having a top guy to drill with. Back to back hammers in the lineup is super fun to watch. I know I definitely step my game up when I'm around people better than me! (Not as a wrestler lol but in my own little semi-athletic performance world.)

FYI you do bring a "I'm right so screw you!" energy sometimes so you might just review your posts a bit before sharing for accidental digital middle fingers, lol. I don't know anything about mods or bans or whatever but that's just kind of the expectation here, historically. Welcome aboard 'pardner

Back to back to back.

Ops, my mistake, I forgot Surber

Finally got a chance to watch this dual. Life has been crazy lately. No chance I'm getting caught up on all the 20+ unread threads.

Anyway, a few thoughts I had. Spratley's offense has slowed down in the two small samples we've got. This goes back to last year early in the season where he seemed to just go blank mentally in some matches and make dumb mistakes that cost him the win. Soeaking to a couple of his CKLV matches last year. He got that stuff ironed out and really grew as the season progressed. I expect similar things for him this season as well.

Hughes needs to get comfortable at 133 bc from what I could tell he looks like he would be a very small 141 .

Surber wrestled a great match. He looks healthy and I hope he exceeds my early expectations of him. I truly believe having DT and Merrill to workout with will help him jump levels.

Aren’t we saying the same thing?

Just watched the match, Flo tossed it on Youtube...

Hamiti looks smaller than Amine, which was interesting....

Every wrestled really well (Surber especially)...

I think we're going to get choppy performances from some of our smaller weights... I think Spratley, Jamison, and maybe Travis..

Hughes looks good.
Young looks like Young again.
Hamiti is Hamiti.
Amine is Amine.
Plott is a stud.
Surber is a beast. Is this the year?
Hendrickson is a monster.

This the year we get 7-8 AAs and get multiple champions?!

Are Fish, Thompson, and Merrill all expected to Redshirt?

Thinking next year....

125 - Spratley
133 - Hughes
141 - Jamison
149 - Young
157 - Travis/Fish?
165 - Travis/Fish?
174 -
184 -
197 - Merrill
HWT - Simpson?

Interesting issue to have, we should be able to plug in some of these weights pretty easily, especially if we show well this year.

174 probably Lockett as true freshman
184 Brayden Thompson
Hwt Doucet I think he has 1 year left after this year
