Is it silly for Democrats to focus on Trump's finances, Trump's tax returns, Trump's business dealings? Haven't they just opened an investigation to see if they can find any criminal activity in his private life? If that's not silly, why would it be silly to question where today's socialist flavor of the month is getting her support?

I don't think I have been hoodwinked. I have not seen anything that has brought up this topic. I came up with it all on my own. I don't think it is a big deal, just a curiosity. If she's receiving outside funds I think we should know about it, and know who and to what extent the funds are extended, and what is the purpose of such extension. I don't see it as any different than the same curiosity we all have on other politicians.

Be that as it may, here's where I see the difference between curiosity about Trump's business dealings and AOC's financial support. (By the way, you're the one that interjected Trump into the conversation, not me. As far as I'm concerned Trump is a corrupt crony capitalist dangerous politician with serious narcissistic tendencies.) Trump's business consists of private dealings between individuals, and their potential damage will incur only to themselves. His corruption does not extend very far into society. AOC, on the other hand is a lightning rod for an aggressive governmental takeover of the entire society. Like every other pie-in-the-sky socialist she averts her eyes to the misery socialism has brought to every society that has given it a try. USSR, no, not real socialism. China, no. Cube, no. Venezuela, no. None of them have tried her brand of socialism, which she is convinced will work if only the right people are in place to ram it down our throats. She's only here to help. But her "help" will affect all of us. If she is merely a pawn for socialist forces I think that speaks to potential corruption that far exceeds anything Trump has done when he built some golf courses.
