That’s what I was about to say. I agree w what’s she’s saying, but literally so does everyone else. This isn’t a new thing. This has been an issue forever, what’s her point?

Speaking of AOC, does she not claim to come from a very humble background? Is she not living in DC solely on her House salary? What is her salary? Isn’t it something like $174K? Is it known where she’s living, what is her rent?
I ask because she is one of the most well put together people I can think of. Not a hair out of place, flawless makeup, perfect lipstick shade, great designer eye ware. And her choice of clothing is stunning. I haven’t seen her in the same outfit twice, and her outfits are really nice looking. It all has to cost a fortune. I don’t see how she can afford it on $174K while living in DC.
Is it possible she is being financed by an outside source, someone with an incentive to make the face of today’s socialist movement look gorgeous? Because in spite of her occasional crazy eyes for the most part she is really nice looking and has found a sartorial look that is close to perfection.

Let’s talk about your version of the edit. What kind of audience is that geared toward? She didn’t say anything of relevance, but she seemed to have some verve. Someone who watched the whole hearing I’m assuming chose to only give you the part where she was talking. What do you think the editor thinks of her target audience as she edits that tape before loading it in the twitter cannon?

My comment was not so much to discuss her hotness (although I think she’s much hotter than a 6.5), but rather about her finances.
Her “look” strikes me as the work of professionals. As if she has a team of handlers who do her hair, makeup and definitely her clothing. Her outfits always strike the perfect combination of “cool” and “class.” She always looks squeaky clean.
Is it all a charade? It’s like she’s being presented to the American public - particularly our youth - as an example of what today’s brand of socialism would be like. Go socialist, it says, and you can be hip like me, everyone can dress in these fabulous designer clothes and have the media fawning over your every pronouncement. Have old white guys standing behind you as you pontificate before the microphone. If we become socialist you can have my lifestyle too. (The Democratic Party will be insane if they don’t send her on a college speaking tour. The college kids, who already have a warm feeling toward socialist tyranny, would eat her up.).
I think NZ is right that she is a much greater threat to our way of life than some of you perceive. When she smiled as Trump mocked socialism in the SOTU it was a smile of someone who knew the threat she presents.
While she personally does not seem particularly intelligent I can’t help but wonder who is propping her up, who is behind the curtain, who are the manipulators. It appears to me she is burning through tons of money with her outfits, etc., much more money than her salary would suggest. Where’s the money coming from?

Maybe she shops at second hand stores.
Maybe she buys at Wal Mart and is good at making her clothes look like they came from high end boutique stores.
Of all the possible AOC concerns/issues/discussion points, is her makeup and clothing really something worth analysing in detail?
Trump wears suits that are too big for him. Maybe that means he can't afford a tailor and isn't really wealthy at all. His ties are too long. Clearly, he had to buy them second hand and they used to be owned by a much taller man.
I personally love her. She needs her own prime time cable news hour so she can share her brain fruit with us all.
She has presented herself as a poor girl from Brooklyn. So ,poor she couldn't move to DC until her House checks started coming in. I would guess a salary of $174K in DC would be taxed at somewhere between $45-$55K. My son lived in DC almost 20 years ago, rented a run-of-the-mill apartment for $3,800/month. I would guess today that apartment would go for upwards of $5K/month. Assuming that is the type of living quarters she has chosen (and I don't believe for one minute she is living in a standard DC apartment) she is draining at least $60K for rent. That alone doesn't leave funds for designer outfits, often more than one per day. Aren't you at least a little curious how she is supporting her lifestyle? Especially since she advocates we all live the same? Shouldn't she be in WalMart clothing, not designer outfits the rest of us can't afford? Does that not suggest anything suspicious to you?

Maybe next she can tackle term limits and politicians enriching themselves while in office.
I don't see her that way. I think she is a moderately intelligent young woman who has been taught the joys of socialism her entire life, and has bought into it completely. She is a perfect foil, moderately intelligent, articulate enough to sound intelligent to those who desperately want to believe in socialism, attractive enough to have a certain sex appeal, very well dressed to appeal to women with shallow values, a light-skinned-enough minority to not seem too threatening to moderate whites, has the media in the palm of her hand, very young with appeal to younger voters. In trying to look at her through those eyes I can understand how the pilts and pokeabears and sys's can go gaga over her. She's like their Trojan Horse. I only hope enough people see through the ruse to reject her form of collectivist tyranny. But, to be honest, I'm not sure they do.
While I agree, the words that come out of her mouth make me question whether she is moderately intelligent.

You know how Trump supporters say they take what he says seriously but not literally? I think the same holds true for AOC supporters. She is not stupid and neither are they. She's throwing things out there and watching to see what clicks. People who dismiss her as dumb do so at our peril.
She’s savvy and clever. Not the same thing as smart. Maybe not stupid per se but she’s so far over her skis on this stuff she’s setting the green movement back because none of this is realistic or actionable.
I don’t buy it. I think she’s got a lot of passion, she’s just 29 and extremely naive. Maybe I’m wrong.
Is she the anti-Trump-art-of-the-deal? Demand the moon as your first negotiating tactic? I have never thought Trump was all that smart. But there's no question he is clever and savvy. She's a very young version of the opposite of Trump?
