There he is! The last week has been an abject horror show for the Kamala campaign, have you been awake?
Tell us more about how great Kamala did this week.
This week has been a great week for the Harris campaign. Mainly because of how undisciplined a candidate Trump is right now. But also because of strong messaging and a smart strategy from the Harris campaign.
First, Trump seriously hurt himself with his fascist rally at MSG. He very well could lose Pennsylvania now due to the disgusting hateful comments made at that rally, especially about Puerto Rico. It could hurt him in Florida too, Nevada, and other places. People who had endorsed Trump were pulling their endorsements after that rally and backing Harris. Trump essentially inspired Puerto Ricans and Latinos to vote against him. Big gift to the Harris campaign.
Puerto Ricans in Florida overwhelmingly support Harris, view Trump unfavorably
(btw, I told you weeks ago it was stupid and a waste of time for Trump to have that rally in NYC. But even I didn't realize just how bad a rally it was going to be for the Trump campaign.)
Then, as if that wasn't enough, Trump goes even crazier with his comments about Liz Cheney. Trump used fascist rhetoric, calling on guns to be trained on Cheney's face. The Drudge Report led yesterday with the headline that Trump was calling for Cheney's execution. Not to mention Trump's embrace of calls for live military tribunals for those who politically disagree with Trump. Just more of Trump showing his fascist beliefs, which the Harris campaign has been warning Americans about.
While Trump was seriously hurting himself, the Harris campaign was setting up the contrast. They had an impressive rally at the Ellipse, one that offered a completely different message from the fascist message we saw at Trump's MSG rally. Not to mention a contrast with Trump's January 6 insurrection rally. Harris was positive and inspiring, spoke about the future, and used Trump's own words against him. She has continued to have impressive rallies this week through out the swing states and has received some positive new polling numbers in those states.
Also, Biden's comment about garbage gave Harris a perfect opportunity to separate herself from Biden, which she did and took advantage of. She was able to stay on message by disagreeing with Biden's words and continuing to push her message of unity and working across the aisle. Biden's comment didn't hurt Harris, and some have called it her Sister Souljah moment. Harris handled it perfectly.
Essentially, this past week, the Harris campaign set back and let Trump be Trump. They know he is an undisciplined candidate. They know he is a fascist. They know Trump will show his true colors. He can't help himself. And Trump did exactly what the Harris campaign knew he would do. While he was doing that, the Harris campaign set up the contrast. She had positive inclusive rallies and she stayed on message. She prosecuted the case against Trump.
Yep, definitely a great last week for Kamala Harris. And her campaign is feeling good right now.
