From what I hear, Gabe's an Iowa guy and loves it there.
Angelo has lots of folks in Stilly he still keeps in touch with. Including guys on our wrestling team.
That would be interesting for sure. I feel like that would put him at odds with the rest of his family if he were to come here tho lol.
If we could get Angelo, I have said for the last 3 years you should jump at the chance. I have never seen or heard that he is trouble. He appears to be a dominant 184. He could help us get to 35. He should not be judged by his brothers or family. I don't expect of course that he would want to come here, though. One other thing is he came to wrestle despite taking on a 4 time National Champ in that Champs gym. Impressive.
Angelo isn't going anywhere. Would shock me if Gabe left Iowa his family moved there. Gabe isn't a 86kg guy so I would think he's 79kg this summer and 174 next year. And Penn st fans were all over him so they got him off of the bench. Gabe knew he wasn't wrestling he didn't even weigh in
Were the fans all over Gabe or all over the Brands? Guys who were there said that Gabe thought they were harassing him but that they were really harassing Brands for his decision. I'm sure a few fans targeted Gabe out of 17,000, but the feedback is that it was originally directed at Brands.

So if the info from mizzou thread is true, we will not have Carter and Doucet from next years line up. How will it shake up things if at all?
Guys walking at senior day doesn’t mean they’re not coming back. Think it just means they earned their degree this semester and are being honored for it. I THINK.
Carter still has another year. So unless he's retiring, he's competing next year. Haven't heard anything about him doing that or entering the portal.

IF true, not sure this affects anything. I see Jamison at 149 and Travis back at 157. If Young could get his finish rate to 33% I may think differently but I’ve been feeling that way all season.
Doucet can stall his way to an AA with all the guys graduating at heavy this year but I think if DT wants to find someone else it will probably be similar level again just due to how many Seniors there are at heavy. So really doesn’t affect much.

I can't imagine a scenario where DT rolls out Doucet. That will only happen if there's an injury. Heavy will definitely be a portal pickup.
People act like there are a dozen stud HWT ready to hit the portal. If there’s one and we can get him I’ll take it but I just don’t know that there’s will be. I dislike Doucet style same as everyone else but he was a blood round guy going into this season with that style and now the weight clears out. My point being 1) I don’t know that there’s going to be a better option and 2) if he stalls his way to AA and we have to take it for a year it is what it is. Take the points.
I am with you in that we hit it real big this last year in the portal (Hendrickson, Hamiti unbelievably great, and Amine, Fish, real good). If we hit this big next year I would say wow.
True but both of ours just went through Senior Day ceremonies. Not sure why you do that if you’re coming back. Wyatt is out of eligibility so he was a given. Doucet isn’t out of eligibility but was honored as a senior.

Redshirting. He took an Olympic redshirt last year so it will have been 2 seasons since he wrestled.
What weight has he most recently competed at and is he staying at Wisco or are consecutive RS a sign of discontent?
He got legitimately hurt at Trials. Shoulder injury.

He hasn’t wrestled this year at all but wrestlestat has him at 285.
Also, he should have two years eligibility? 2021 Covid year or his redshirt season? Wrestled 22/23. Then Olympic shirt 24, medical shirt 25?
Sorry I should’ve asked a better question. I remember he was going HWT but wasn’t sure what he walked around at since he was at least previously a 197. Looks like he wrestled the team trials at 97kg, so 215ish. Wonder what his current weight is. Sounds like he’d be comparable in size to bulked Surber
I think more comparable to bulked Derek White. His body stature probably better built to go heavy than Surber was. I bet Amos could easily be 230+ as a heavy weight.
