Next Years Lineup

I know this board really loves sleeping on Kody Routledge but the kid had one hell of an Ironman. He easily majored (almost pinned) Will Denny in the finals to win it… the same Will Denny who just beat Melvin Miller in the semis and Kollin Rath in the finals to win Super 32.

Kody is a stud and he seems to be getting better by the minute.
I agree 100%. It’s probably due to a well known idiopathic disease called “Grass-is-Greener”. There is no known cure.

Doesn’t taylor really like him?
I think he does but I also think people are making maybe to much out of him going to worlds as his training partner.
I think that’s part of it but it’s also how we’re recruiting. We have seemingly backed off on some very interested studs at the weight. That at least partially points to us liking what we have.

This. I honestly thought BT was going to be the first out the door, whether by choice or not. Instead - he's embraced being a true part of the team.

I like what DT did. He didn't employ the same/usual tactics that the typical scorched-earth coaches use when implementing a new culture. He set the expectations - but he's been willing to work with all of the kids and not just kick them to the curb after the first strike. Jordan Williams for instance - he was on the Gilman plan. Gilman spent A LOT of time with him off the mat, mentoring him and spending time with him - all in an effort to get the young man to reach his potential.

Pat is saying in Iowa rivals board that Iowa has legit chance to land Jax. Dont like it. Thats why I never take early favorites seriously in college.

Edit: Its Willie, not Pat

It's not wrong just because of the environment the sport is in.

Is it short-sighted if Jax does take the deal, yes. Can you blame him, no.

OSU is the right spot for him in every category besides one, a BIG pay day. That is literally the only thing that Iowa can offer him at this time.

What makes OSU a better spot than PSU?

You said OSU is the right spot for him? What makes it the right spot, it’s not just OSU vs. Iowa for Jax.
It was completely in reference to the discussion that Iowa is in the picture.

The topic being discussed is Iowa vs. OSU. OSU is the right spot for him if he has other goals besides money. PSU is also a spot that has more upside for him than Iowa…and I said as much.

You're right and ChasePollard is incorrect. Iowa can offer him garbage.

Seriously, what could Iowa offer a Bo Bassett that DT and OSU can't? The answer is nothing, which is why you are not getting the recruits you need to sustain your program. OSU has the better staff, the better vision for an athlete of Bo's caliber, and an RTC that will surpass Iowa in 2025 if they aren't already there. OSU also has as much money on the sidelines as Iowa just in case, but that is not what Bo is about.

So again, how is Chase incorrect?

Oh, and please don't delete my posts on your forum again. It's unbecoming of a moderator. Just refute it in words like you would any other post. I used to own forums in the past. It's bad form to delete posts you don't like.

Also, I would say our RTC is already much better.

I added that before you posted lol. I do believe your RTC is already better but I also think it's past time to name a head coach for the RTC. If Kyle isn't coming, find someone else. The situation is feeling stale to me. My thought in writing my original post is that Gilman spent two hours one-on-one with Bo in his basement room. An Olympic medalist near your weight and in your basement for two hours is some powerful recruiting stuff. I remember Iowa fans pissing on Gilman the last 5 years for joining the NLWC and speaking out against the Brands methology. In that 5 years, Gilman made contact with kids like Bo relationship-wise and the payoff is now.

Turd likes to dish it but he can't take it. He's nothing but an insecure, thin skinned person.

There has been a few movements that’s didn’t get finalized.

I’d rather it be a tad stale than make a bad hire. If we don’t rush the monkey, we’ll get a better show.

PSU guys agreeing about an Iowa moderator on an OSU forum. Classic!! It's like one big happy dysfunctional internet family.
If someone would have showed me this post same time last year and also told me DT would be our head coach. Would be beyond my brainpower to figure out the dominos that fell.

DT to OSU is the easy part to imagine. The fact that he so quickly exposed Iowa as an empty suit in recruiting is the surprise.

I don't see why? Its obvious the psu staff pulls double duty. All I ever see seems like are Cody and Casey to the point I dont even think of Varner when I think about RTC coaches. And how many non psu fans even know Mcknight is a coach?

Zahid doesn't seemed worried about it? RBY came because of Gilman. No need to rush anything.

Are Dake and Snyder the only big names training at NLWC that aren't in the PSU pipeline? A couple of years ago everyone was flooding there to train, but I haven't heard of anyone else moving there lately. OSU is starting to have what PSU had just a few years ago. Yes they will have Brooks and Starocci but Snyder and Dake are reaching the end. My point is, I don't think we are far behind what the NLWC has built and brining in a RTC coach when you already have DT in the room working with them seems unnecessary at the moment.

That was actually a 12th hour, 360 on what was about to happen.

So no, at the time, and currently it’s surreal.
I know but imagining DT to OSU was easy. Getting it done was the harder squeeze.

DT wasn’t just going to fade off into the sunset and farm his acreage and train kids at M2. His entire life trajectory screamed head coach.
