Dean is a poor example. He came to PSU on his own because he did not like Cornell's covid rules. It was unsolicitedIt’s what PSU did with Dean and Nagao and what Iowa and OSU did this.
Like who will struggle to beat them? OSU or everyone? If ISU pulls off what they are trying to do, they will be very hard to beat next year.
Thanks, I’m sure the pressure is on them to do something, seeing Iowa and OSU make moves.I think you can surmise. I am not an ISU fan at all but I can’t break confidence of the person who told me. But, they have a few people they are trying to get. Being that some of it is already out, I don’t mind saying some of it because it’s posted on the Iowa board. But, I can’t tell you everything. Sorry, I know I shouldn’t have said anything then. But, they have the attention of both Larkins and Facundo. Add them to a returning Swiderski, Echemedia and Batista and true freshman Castillo. And, then this years Frost, Chittum and P. Johnson.
Now, I think Larkins are going to be hard to pull away from Arizona but 2 of their high school teammates are at ISU already. Facundo is tied to Metcalf from Michigan days.
The collective is definitely working on a bunch of guys currently. They've a big $ guy coming aboard as well. Facundo will have 3 years remaining and is from the same town in Michigan as Metcalf. Rumors are Larkin is looking to leave ASU. Im only mentioning those 2 because it's been rumored and posted other places that they could be moving onmalos, you can’t drop that nugget and not elaborate
Facundo's best weight is 174. He only went down to 157 to try and get in the lineup. That’s right, Corby. And, I am sure they are one program that would take a risk with AJ Ferrari. The thinking is they could have finalists with Echemedia, Batista, Ferrari and then they have another wrestler they are pursuing that has also been hinted on another forum. Regardless, both Larkins and Facundo with their existing team gets very interesting. Add in Swiderski, Frost, Chittum, Paniro and Castillo. They will have quite long jam from 41-65
If the Larkins transfer in there will definitely be some transfers out. I also don’t see Chittum staying if a Ferrari is there. That’s right, Corby. Didn’t Chittum leave Iowa specifically because they brought the Ferraris in or am I misremembering? If the Larkins transfer in there will definitely be some transfers out. I also don’t see Chittum staying if a Ferrari is there.
It was due to Anthony Ferrari committingDidn’t Chittum leave Iowa specifically because they brought the Ferraris in or am I misremembering?
165 seems like the ideal weight for Facundo.Facundo's best weight is 174. He only went down to 157 to try and get in the lineup.
recent comments, I'll give my 2 cents on a few things.....
We dont want Gabe Arnold.... probably a good kid bit Ive heard theres some real mental/ emotional issues there.
We won't get him I'm thinking but Angelo Ferrari will be a 4x finalist and if we did have a shot we should go all in. Could you imagine a lineup that goes Dee, Angelo, Cody, Dreshaun?
Carter will be back next year. As far as line up? I think Carter needs to go 141. He'd be stronger there and let Tagen go 149. Carter isnt pulling much at all. As far as Cael, Ive been told repeatedly he has less of a weight cut then Tagen, but just doesnt want to cut weight. Problem is, he needs to get stronger also if he were to think about 141. So we will just have to see how it all plays out.
Theres been debate about whether DT will go to the portal much and I can tell you still that if the the NIL money is there he absolutely will. Who or what weights he goes after we can make solid educated guesses. But we have to remember, he's David MF Taylor! There will be guys willing to leave their current program to wrestle for him that would otherwise just stay where theyre at. So we may see a stud or two come in that we had no clue was in the picture just because of that or someone come in at a weight we thought was pretty solid already.

I agree with you, but I’m not sure the OSU fan base as a whole would welcome the Ferrari family back. The casual or non wrestling OSU fan only knows the black eye stuff. Just my opinion. Sucks for Angelo bc he hasn’t done anything but is what it is.We won't get him I'm thinking but Angelo Ferrari will be a 4x finalist and if we did have a shot we should go all in.
He won Pan Ams last year at 79kg, or 174 pounds.165 seems like the ideal weight for Facundo.
He was also 74kg 163 for the Olympic trials and is a 74kg guy . He was also 74 for senior nationals in Dec 2023. And hes been 165 for 2 of his years in college. Then during his off year was 74kg. And this year 157. Him wrestling 79kg at pan ams for 1 event doesn't make me think he's a 174 with him spending years at 165 and now 157He won Pan Ams last year at 79kg, or 174 pounds.
We can always use more. NIL isnt going away and money talks. Also I know we lost some NIL $$$ from some people who were big Coleman supporters. I'm hoping the DT hype will bring in more enough for anyone we need or want. So…is the NIL money there?
I would have no problem if Angelo wanted to come back. As far as his brothers go, stay away from Stillwater please!I agree with you, but I’m not sure the OSU fan base as a whole would welcome the Ferrari family back. I get it. But if we could get him I'd tell those people to have a coke and a smile and shut...... well, you know.I agree with you, but I’m not sure the OSU fan base as a whole would welcome the Ferrari family back. On average tho it seems like we’re in a pretty good place? I assume we must be considering the talent we got from the portal last year and I believe @vhsalum hinted that we were the favorites for a big heavyweight transfer next year.We can always use more. NIL isnt going away and money talks. Also I know we lost some NIL $$$ from some people who were big Coleman supporters. I'm hoping the DT hype will bring in more enough for anyone we need or want.
IMO, it is imperative that Fish, Amine, DJ and maybe even Wyatt do much better at NCAAs than previous years.Scanning through recent comments, I'll give my 2 cents on a few things.....

Wyatt and Dean both would have to beat a national champion to make the finals, that would be some huge momentum if they can pull it off.IMO, it is imperative that Fish, Amine, DJ and maybe even Wyatt do much better at NCAAs than previous years.
You'll have blood round, low-level AA guys wanting a change of scenery to duplicate what those guys did (assuming it is 5-6, 3-4, finals and finals.) Or 4 finalists if I am making a wish list.
If it is similar results as the past, you might not see an enthusiastic surge of interest, although, he is still David Taylor and is a draw regardless.
Yeah, I know…Wyatt and Dean both would have to beat a national champion to make the finals, that would be some huge momentum if they can pull it off.
Is it really ever over? Was wondering when you were gonna say this out loud.
I don't think people understand - portal season is effectively already over.
Thanks, I’m sure the pressure is on them to do something, seeing Iowa and OSU make moves.
They can beat us but unless they get a lot of portal wrestlers they won't be able to beat Penn. St. We will be very vulnerable next year. We will need to get in the portal to have a trophy challenging team. I was one of the fans who thought redshirting Plott, Hendrickson and Hamiti might have been smart because we might have won a team championship next year. However, I acknowledge this year team would have been mediocre. Now next year we won't have a great team based on what we have right now. Because of that I would be tempted to redshirt Dee(unless that meant losing him). Our team could be 125 Spratley jun. 133 McCallum fr. 141 Hughes soph. 149 Jamison jun. 157 Travis jun. 165 Routledge fr. 174 Mower jun. 184 Thompson soph. 197 Merrill fr. HWT Doucet sen. This is a solid team (maybe finish in the top 10). The year after we could be something with wrestler development= 125 Spratley sen. 133 Forrest fr. 141 Vega fr. 149 Jamison sen. 157 Robideau fr. 165 Routledge soph. 174 Lockett fr. 184 Thompson jun. 197 Merrill soph. HWT Ross fr. This 2026-2027 lineup would be improved at every weight class and unbelievably improved in like 174. Also, this lineup is very young. If we have great coaches not just great recruiters our future is very bright.Like who will struggle to beat them? OSU or everyone?
Do you think there are strong odds that Lockett redshirts? I figured a kid of his talent level is liable to start right off the batThey can beat us but unless they get a lot of portal wrestlers they won't be able to beat Penn. I think it comes down to what the rest of the team looks like. With a roster like Harley put together with no transfers Dee should absolutely redshirt. If we get a couple hammers at the weights I mentioned but have 165 open I think he wrestles.Do you think there are strong odds that Lockett redshirts? I figured a kid of his talent level is liable to start right off the bat
