Mini-Me Declares War On AP African American Studies

Why does this make you very happy. Why are you opposed to offering an AP African American Studies class?
I’m opposed to having public schools (that are little more than indoctrination centers) so of course I’m opposed to classes that indoctrinate. You should be, too, because the day may come the tides might turn and there will be classes teaching the horrors of socialism.

What is the educational value of African American studies in high school?
This is an AP course, which allows high school students who are going to college to earn college credits alongside their high school diploma. This helps college bound students prepare for college and it helps reduce undergraduate tuition costs for these students. There are numerous AP courses that high school students routinely take, such as AP American History, AP European History, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Psychology, AP Calculus, etc. Students choose these classes, they are not forced into them.

African American Studies is taught in college just as these other subjects are. Some students desire to eventually major in this subject at college or wish to take this class to fulfill a college requirement and save on undergraduate tuition costs.

There is clear educational value present here along with economic value for individual students.

What harm do you see in offering such a class to these future college students?

This is a pilot program by the College Board that oversees AP coursework. The first AP exam will be administered in the Spring of 2025.
The camels nose pushes under the tent. It’s just a pilot program! How can you be against a pilot program? I’d guess within 10 years it would be a class in every high school in the state. Hell, it might even be a mandatory class. It needs to be squashed before leftist statists get any momentum behind it.

Prevalent with cfb "students". 🤣

So your opposition is just to public schools in general. Got it.

I take it you believe all schools should be private?

because the day may come the tides might turn and there will be classes teaching the horrors of socialism.
I took AP American History when I was a Junior in high school and took AP European History when I was a Senior in high school. In both, I was exposed to socialism and learned about it from a neutral perspective. Pros and cons. As are students today. I was not "indoctrinated," especially considering at the time I took those classes, I was a strong conservative and part of the Student Republican Club at my high school.

Students today also learn about socialism and other such systems as early as 7th grade in their Civics class. There is also now an AP United States Government and Politics class offered to high school students.

How about this, Counselor? The AP African American studies will be a program 100% developed, prepared and taught by right wing historians only, leftists need not apply. Would you still be on board for the “pilot program?”

Al Sharpton appreciates yer donations.

Hopefully, along with many other AP courses. The more we can help high school students to prepare for college and lessen their tuition costs, the better off we will be as a nation.

Hell, it might even be a mandatory class.
AP courses are never mandatory. Some students have no desire to take AP courses because either they don't plan on attending a four year college or they just don't want to take AP courses.

There is AP Art History. Some students who want to go to college for art take this class. No one is forced to. It will be the same for AP African American Studies.

What’s this about:

“In the future, should College Board be willing to come back to the table with lawful, historically accurate content, FDOE will always be willing to reopen the discussion,” the letter stated.

Why would I be on board with this? On top of that, why must you make this a political issue? What is it about African American Studies that leads you to think "leftist indoctrination"?

Is AP Calculus leftist indoctrination? AP Chemistry? European studies and history? American history?

Yes, I believe all schools should be private. That way left wing kooks like yourself could send your kids to be indoctrinated into leftist ideology and any subjects of secondary importance to you. And I could send my kids to schools that teach the values and subjects I prefer my children learn. And surprisingly we could be personal friends because there would be no need to tear at each other’s throat in order to get our way in the one-size-fits-all government indoctrination centers.

"While the letter did not elaborate on what the agency found objectionable in the course content"

Do you care to know what Mini-Me and his cronies found objectionable about this course?

Do you find it interesting that lawful AND accurate are separate conditions? I wonder if that is even possible given recent developments in Florida.

So then you are perfectly fine with indoctrination. Your objection is not to indoctrination, indeed, this is actually what you want. You want a society where children are indoctrinated, not educated.

I'm not surprised at all that this is your position.

Pretending African American Studies programs are non-ideological is madness. They are a hotbed of leftist American hatred indoctrination. We both know that is true.

What makes you think right-wing historians would be bad for the program? History is history, is it not? Right-wing historians would provide a purely objective class, no ideology. Why would you object?

Yeah, David, you tell him! Florida is a seething mass of unlawful and inaccurate conditions. No wonder people are fleeing that state in terror. Oh, wait, I’m sorry, I got Florida mixed up with California (or was it New York?).

No we don't. So explain your thinking.

What is it about "African American Studies" that is leftist indoctrination? It learning about African American history leftist indoctrination? Is learning about slavery or the civil rights movement leftist indoctrination? Is learning about African Americans who have profoundly impacted human history leftist indoctrination?

Once again the good counselor from Florida soils himself in brash desire to win an argument. Freedom scares the pants off you, doesn’t it? God forbid a society enjoy free inquiry!

Indoctrination is not freedom. Indoctrination is one of the tools of a totalitarian system. And you just advocated for indoctrination over education.

As usual, you advocate for that which will lead directly to what you claim to oppose. Totalitarianism. I've never met someone as confused as you are.

What concerns you about an objective telling of African American history by right-winge historians? What are you afraid they’d get something wrong? Are you worried the right-wingers would indoctrinate the students?

This is such a mealy mouthed juvenile half brained self mis-directed argument it deserves no reply. You’re showing your ass, Counselor.

Stop trying to dodge my simple question. You are the one who automatically thinks leftist indoctrination when you hear "African American Studies."

So again, what is it about "African American Studies" that is leftist indoctrination in your opinion?
