There it is.

@tlwwake, let's see how nonpartisan you are now? How committed you are now to our checks and balances?

What say you?
Trump using recess appointments is completely Constitutional.

"Article II of the Constitution gives a president authority to make appointments "by and with the advice and consent of the Senate," which typically must hold hearings on a candidate and take a vote to confirm. Installing members of the Cabinet or executive branch when the Senate is out of session bypasses those steps."

Are you saying you don't think Trump should follow the Constitution?

Are you two even paying attention??

@tlwwake
@2012Bearcat

Would you support this?
LMAO have you? History is your friend. You might want to go back and look into the recess appointments of Clinton and your favorite President Obama. It was good enough for them but Trump is somehow a fascist if he does. Hilarious how easily you leftist are manipulated.

Knowing my history, I would absolutely support Trump using recess appointments. Would I like it, no but I would support Trump using the same process other Presidents have.

This comment comes from a person who supported a President who signed more executive orders in the first 100 days than any other President. Hmmm?
Yep and I'm not talking about executive orders. Do he sign an executive order decreeing all his appointments are approved?

Did he?

Stop deflecting and switching topics.

Be a man and state your position. Do you believe the President should be able to make these appointments without oversight from the legislative branch? Do you support separation of powers, checks and balances?

Can you say what Trump is calling for is wrong or not?

Yes or no?

Which is it?

Thank you for your answer and being honest.

You just endorsed another step to a dictatorship in this country.

I'm so glad to see you authoritarian fascists finally starting to be real. Starting to admit to yourself what you have always been.

Keep it up. Be who you are.

You're welcome. Did you hear who the new FBI Director is? You are expending a lot of butthurt over the Matt Gaetz pick, you may need to pace yourself.

Were Clinton and Obama dictators? If my memory is correct Clinton appointed well over 100 of his nominees, Obama somewhere around 30.

Ok.

So you have no problem with it. Even when it is a Democrat doing it.

Got it.

Noted.
Not what I said. I said I don't like it but the process has been used by Democrats recently, numerous times. If it's good enough for Democrats why would it not be good enough for a Republican?
You call Trump a dictator for merely mentioning it but I have no doubt you didn't say the same about the Democrats.

@tlwwake, what say you?

@2012Bearcat?

No legislative oversight? To hell with checks and balances now?
Thee Hugh Manatee!!!!

“President Obama made 32 recess appointments, all to full-time positions. During his presidency, President William J. Clinton made 139 recess appointments, 95 to full-time positions and 44 to part-time positions. President George W. Bush made 171 recess appointments, 99 to full-time positions and 72 to part-time positions.”

Right.. my thought too. And it’s 50/50 at best right now
I'm not so sure about 50/50. He seems to be confident on his move here. He's acting as if it's 90/10. Honestly I don't think Trump would make this announcement without knowing it would go through.

The senate just appointed a majority leader in the shadiest way possible. They may be stuck with confirmation at some point, and agreed to a recess at the right time to get all if these picks in.

I have to admit its a bold move, but so far nothing about this time around is going to be safe. He is obviously go big or go home. He doesn't have a re-election to worry about.

Gaetz is already in via recess appointments. All Trump's cabinet picks will bypass Senate confirmation. Obama and Clinton did the same thin, now that a pub is doing it, the libs are shittin themselves.

Trump is naming Gaetz so the criminals will leave the country and save them the trouble. Look for a stream of libs leaving to countries that the US doesn't have an extradition treaty with.

They can take the establishment Republicans and intelligence deep state with them when they go.

What I’m reading in this thread from someone is that it’s ok if we do it to you but not ok if you do it to us. Democrats, you did it to yourselves. Admit it, you screwed up.

So you admit you have no clue what you are posting about, just trying your hardest to defend your Dear Leader.

Ok.

Thanks.

Hey look, Dems aren't in power so suddenly @my_2cents is interested in HOW the government is run again. Where have you been the past 4 years?
Radical progressive leftist only believe in checks and balances when they are in the minority.

If I had my way each and every piece of legislation would require a minimum of 2/3rds voting in favor of legislation or appointment to pass in both houses. I would think that would insure legislation is in the best interest of the majority.

Not 2/3rds but I truly believe that we should re-enshrine the 60 vote threshold and permanently eliminate the "CR" process. Those were the real checks and balances that the founding fathers created, but libs started destroying them, and Republicans continued destroying them and that, more than anything else, has led to the wild pendulum swings of government over the past 20 years.

I could get behind the 60 vote threshold and the elimination of the CR process. Not sure how we get that enshrined into Congress with as divided as this country is.
