Unless her family sold her (which happens), or is in such desperate straits that sending her across the border illegally was better than her staying in Mexico.

My point is that these are complicated, mult-layered issues. There are no simple answers, and simple answers are all anyone is really promoting or advocating.

It’s simple to me. You secure the border as tight as you can with whatever permanent barriers are possible, stack the box with agents and send hordes of liberals to these countries to straighten them out.

Just like our middle east involvement where we don't have to sign up to be the world's policeman, we don't have to sign up to be the world's aid station either.

I'm sympathetic to the plight of others, I just don't know how we can commit to taking on the billions of people who individually would do better if they were in this country.

There is certainly middle ground between noting and taking on billions of people.
