Watched the vast majority of the Nebraska/Iowa dual and I'm not impressed with Iowa and don't know how they have been ranked #2 all season until their thumping by Penn State. Dual was close all night and the difference was a pin at 197 by #1 Buchanan.

I think we're gonna walk into Carver-Hawkeye in two weeks and beat the ever loving shit out of them.

I was looking at the matchups and I had it 5 to 5 with a possible upset in Nebraska’s favor. They’ve had some injuries but I wasn’t impressed either

I like your style!

I’m sure we’ll have a lead up to it predicting outcomes.

I don't know, it feels like it should be 5-5 if everyone is healthy on both sides, but I also think Angelo has a real shot against Plott. Though if it does go 5-5, I like our chances of getting more bonus.

I’d really like to go see a dual in Carver!

I might do that in two years! I def will if I current with my license.

Oklahoma st in Carver will be unbelievable and like nothing you've ever experienced at a dual. You definitely need to go. By license do you mean concealed carry 🤣
I’ll be concealed carry by wearing a long sleeve shirt!

But yeah, i want to see an OSU/Iowa dual there. Hopefully when both are good.

I’ve been wanting to do that for 10 years but also kids have prevented it. Have a 4,6,7 lol. Someday.
I was at about 35 hours when we had our first. Took a break for about 6 months (accident) and it turned out to be costly.

I think I took my check ride at 51 hours.

Had #2 about 18 months after I got my license and haven’t flown left seat since she was born.

I saw a NCAA championship in Carver in the early 90’s. I was living in the Chicago suburbs and my mom and dad came up on a group bus for the championship so I drove over. Too long ago to remember how we did but was pretty cool.

Just looked it up 1991 we was runner up to Iowa.

So @Pennstate1985 -

What does the next 2 weeks look like for our guys? It appears we had incredible stamina in nov and dec which contributed to impressive results and bonus. Then “hell” week occurred sometime in January. Comparing to John smith’s regimen where toward the end of regular season, hyper focus on getting in shape and improving stamina while maintaining weight. What can we expect with DT? This is question following a below average performance against Little Rock and Iowa 2 weeks away.

If he is anything like Cael, then Iowa is not as important to him as it is to the fans. Doesn't mean he doesn't care about beating Iowa, but he is process oriented and March is where you should be peaking. All focus is on that. Yesterday was disappointing I know, but it wasn't a waste if lessons were learned that allows DT to tweak each guy's regimen, be it nutrition or more work in a certain position. Several star PSU guys didn't have a stellar meet against Nebby, but I've learned to count on lessons being learned. For example against Iowa, Barr lost quite a bit of his large tank trying to get off bottom against Buchanan. That's valuable to know so that next time he faces anyone who is great on top, maybe Cael selects neutral or defers. Data points. At nationals, if you are an AA, you will wrestle 5-8 times. January into early February is evaluation time for DT. I would expect in two weeks that OSU will look quite a bit different than they did yesterday.

It will be a big boost of confidence at Nationals if OSU can beat Iowa in two weeks. I see it coming down to bonus.

Case in point. Nick Lee against Jaydin Eierman. Lee got ridden at B1G and lost in the final. When they met at NCAAs, Lee took neutral in the third. One SV inside trip later, he is on TV talking about chopping wood and carrying water.

Cael is a great coach obviously. Most coaches pick neutral the 2nd match if you get ridden in the 1st. The training in the room and the system they wrestle is what makes him a great coach

That is exactly why ducking for seed is stupid. The valuable intel you gain by wrestling a guy is much better than "protecting" your seed.

Agree. The main point being that guys need to wrestle matches they may lose because you gain a ton of information even in losses.
