Inspector General (IG) report — official thread

Is that a serious question?

Did not investigating Hillary help her or hurt her?

That's what libs are wrestling with?

Yes, it helped her by not being indicted and tried.

Any other obvious shit you need me to clear up?

be gentle

these folks bruise like peaches

Allow me to clarify since you went straignt to the "lock her up" angle.

Did the FBI's actions, especially Comey's, help or hurt her campaign for President? Did the FBI and Comey's actions during 2016, which this report criticizes, help or hurt the Clinton campaign? Did it help or hurt Trump's campaign?

Who reaped the political benefits of the FBI actions in 2016, Clinton or Trump?

Doesn't matter how you dress it up, it's a stupid question that I already gave you the only logical answer for.

Not dressing up anything. Asked you simple questions that apparently you won't or can't bring yourself to answer.

It is clear who benefited politically from the actions of the FBI in 2016. And it wasn't Hillary Clinton.

That's post burying her investigation to make her a viable candidate in the first place.

That's post burying her investigation to make her a viable candidate in the first place.

I believe I read that Comey was in favor of a SC for Hillary. Will see if I can cite that.

Trump may have won by another 50+ electoral votes if that had gone forward. Reagan vs Jimma Carter type map.

Dude, you're dug in.

Doesn't matter what I say.

Read what the agents were saying and put on a timeline.

Read how the investigation was conducted.

Read about the evidence and how it was handled.

You tell me if that's how it's supposed to go down?

These are people like you and me that operated above the law and perverted the process at every turn both in this investigation and to secure the nomination in her own party. Libs slowly blink at the obvious crap on their own porch.

And that is a deflection.

For a lawyer, you come across as woefully inadequate on the research side.

Shut your hole, he's a Florida lawyer.

So did they help or hurt her?
I provided that already. While trying to help her by withholding the new findings, Strzok ended up hurting her by putting Comey in a terrible spot. Hence the incompetence and reference to the Three Stooges. But that doesn't make his attempt ok for obvious reasons. It just makes it hilarious.

Maybe you are the one dugged in. Just look at this post for example. It is clear that you want to buy the anti-Clinton political bull**** and therefore you filter everything through that prism.

Do I think the Clintons are perfect? Ha, far from it. But do I think the FBI buried her investigation? Of course not, and I don't see how anyone could make such a claim given what has taken place. And I don't really know how anyone can deny that Trump was helped politically by the investigation involving Clinton, her own mistakes, and the mistakes of some FBI members leading up to the 2016 elections.

Actually I do know. Politics. Blinds even the best.

Bob Ama being on the server had a huge positive impact on Hillarys ability to remain a candidate.

So did Obamas pubic statement absolving her of any crime before the investigation was complete.

I wonder if they're related?

Trump was helped by error, not by intent. When you spend your time trying to make something into nothing despite what is already known to the public, sometimes you end up looking like an idiot. Welcome to the 2016 FBI and DOJ.

Remember when the narrative was that Hillary wasn't under FBI investigation, and then when it was the FBI was doing a "security review," and then the AG tried to call it a "matter?" Good times.

Remember the secret meeting between the AG and WJC that became not a secret? Do you really think anyone believes that only innocuous things were discussed? Especially after emails were released that showed DOJ people in a panic over the discovery of the meeting? And remember when the director of the investigative agency decided to become the prosecuting agency as well? How often does a police department announce that no reasonable prosecutor would prosecute?

Remember when a bunch of Hillary folks were given immunity prior to being interviewed by the FBI, one of which represented Hillary as counsel during her FBI interview? How often does that happen in criminal investigations?

There's a laundry list of folly out there. There's zero doubt to any reasonable person that the DOJ intended to help Clinton in the email investigation matter. Unfortunately for Hillary, the intended help hurt her because a lot of people assumed that she was part of it. That's a natural conclusion whether she was involved or not. The optics of her email thing looked bad from the beginning and the bumbling of the DOJ just added stink to the turd.

Ok, so it hurt her.

Thanks.
Again, what was the intent? Did Strzok and McCabe intend to help Trump? There's a ton of evidence to the contrary. To ignore the intent of Strzok and McCabe is intellectual dishonesty.

You're a lawyer?

Yes, everyone was conspiring to break laws and to help Clinton. But somehow, instead of helping her, it hurt her. Strange how that works. The deep state, so incompetent.

Why do you despise Hillary Clinton so much? Is it just because she is a liberal or is there something else that just drives you crazy about her?

A good lawyer would understand that the beef 98% of conservatives have is not primarily with Clinton the individual but with a government that works as it should, one that adheres to laws and pursues justice blindly.

How do you, a lawyer, not recognize that? What field of law are you in?

Who gives a fvck who was actually helped? The result isn’t the issue, the intent is. These people did their best to help Hillary but they thankfully fvcked up bad enough it backfired and hurt her. It doesn’t mean what they did was ok just because it didn’t work.

Well this might be believable if that 98% was as passionate about investigating Trump's suspicious activities as they are the Clintons. If they devoted as much time to investigating and believing conspiracy theories about Trump as they do the Clintons.

But they don't.

So yes, it is about the Clintons. It is about politics. And how do you, a mathematician, not recognize that?

We were talking about her investigation. Nice attempt to steer away from that and try and make it about me.

It kinda looks like Obama pardoned himself. Or at least put pressure on an investigation that he knew he was a part of...

What's that called?

Not trying to make it about you at all. Just wondering why you dislike her so much.

The same thing you call Trump putting pressure on an investigation that he nows is a part of.

But go ahead, tell me why Trump is innocent and Obama/Clinton are guilty as hell.

I'm beginning to doubt that you are a lawyer.

Most folks are fine with an investigation into Trump if the pursuit wasn't tainted by things that were known about previously and memorialized today in the OIG report. The more time passes, the more this is evident. Today was a dagger.

You need to muster your lawyer training and tell me exactly what evidence you claim to have.

Andrew McCarthy, as measured as he is, has written scathing reviews on the timeline and processes taken to arrive at where we are now with Mueller. Where has he come up short?

Two things are obvious to me Hillary was/is a corrupt, piss poor politician and it was obvious to a lot of voters. That's why she lost.

It is also obvious people in the DOJ and FBI bungled the Hillary cover up and actually made it worse. "She did bad sh!t but she didn't mean to do it". That was an eye roll for people with common sense.

Page 260 and 261 assert that she didn't know the documents were classified.

That was their reasoning for agreeing with the decision not to charge. She's just ignorant.

Blessed we didn't elect someone so ignorant.

And I am starting to wonder if you know how to be serious.

Most folks are fine with an investigation into Trump? What folks? Not that 98% of conservatives that you referenced, who have attacked, questioned, and complained about the Trump investigations since day one. Not many of the MEGA crowd on this board who take any chance they can get to question and/or attack it.

This is all about politics Brad. Those on the right think Clinton is guilty and evil and those on the left think Trump is guilty and evil. Each side sees what they want and refuses to look at any of it from a neutral perspective.

If you want to be taken serious, then be serious.

Even if you accept this rationale, it was Trump that was helped. Not Clinton.

And no amount of spin changes that.
Well, where's the evidence that Trump was "helped?" Just because you say it happened doesn't mean it happened. Try not to insult yourself by using the actual election results as "proof."

You're obviously avoiding the intent question. Why?

Anyhow, let's just work with the assumption you've created that Trump was helped and we'll ignore intent. Is it good or bad that Trump was helped? That's a very simple question. Good or bad?

Not trying to make it about you at all. Just wondering why you dislike her so much.

Point out what I've said that gives you the impression that I "dislike her so much.

You're adding your own inflection and exclamation points. That happens when you don't like what you read.

We were talking about Huber when you interrupted us with that though.

The IG report is about the FBI and DOJ, not Clinton or Trump. Why all of the attempts at deflection?
