If you stop to think about it from an historical perspective, for the last several decades American presidential leadership has devolved from corrupt (Nixon) and incompetent (Ford) to disastrously corrupt and incompetent (LBJ, who with all deference to the OP makes all orhers appear to be amateurishly bad), clueless (Carter), overwhelmingly narcissistic (Clinton, Obama, Trump), to mentally deficient (Biden). Reagan has been the only one that was even moderately acceptable, and even he barely makes the cut. The realist in me sees nothing but danger ahead, but the optimist keeps thinking we’ve now sunk so low there’s nowhere to go but up.

Rating presidents is a highly subjective process, but rating Trump 43rd out of 45 is so lacking in objectivity it deserves nothing but mockery. Who is this historian you are citing? In addition, putting Obama in the top ten is equally ridiculous. About the best that can be said about either Trump or Obama is they are middle of the pack.
