Planes and OSU are probably not ever going to be a selling point IMO. Is use of a corporate jet possible, yes. But why not just fly commercial? That is part of the reason SWO is a hub now.
I'm not a huge fan of Parade's. Especially those in wet, overcast conditions.
I think you and @AtownPoke have both stated / implied, previously, that Paycom Chad would not be putting money in NIL for the team. Still feel that way?
How does air travel work for Parents / Family in today's wild wild west? Anyone know?

I’ve heard that said, but I’d bet he’s open to throwing around some if he believes it’ll help Oklahoma Wrestling as a whole for sure.
Having kids like the visitors this weekend do just that. If you’ve got guys training (not far from his Alma mater) that are chasing huge goals, it’s a lopsided pro to the area.

The air travel situation was surely discussed and I would bet there is a funded frequent flyer account that can be used and utilized as a recruiting tool.
100% agree on the benefits of having high profile / stud wrestlers in your backyard home State that you can see week in and week out! I think it would be HUGE for the State of Oklahoma wrestling community!
Never been to Mardi Gras... Always wanted to! Now I'm probably too old and definitely wiser than to put myself into a situation like that.. 🤷♂️

PSU wants Bo and Jax. Inside scoop Jax is either tOSU or OSU, but PSU won’t quit. They will be up to NLWC for club I am sure.
I don’t see Bo leaving PA, unless the deal is too good to pass up. I would have said the same thing with DT, no way he leaves State College. He has a farm, businesses and a club. But then things happened. Bo has a following here in PA, the fans and little kids adore him. Not sure he would get that treatment in OK. I think I heard him say proximity is a factor but not if jets and are involved. Easy flight ok to somewhere close to his house. Not sure if he has an airport near by.

Unfortunately I did hear the Bassets enjoyed their trip out there. But bold prediction he stays here in PA and becomes the next Zain or Levi. Homegrown
All you had to do was look up Cael's age to know that DT becoming the PSU head coach was never happening. Once he lost the Olympic berth, it was just a matter of money and circumstance to get him to sell the farm and move to whereever.
I highly doubt any private jet would ever be used for a recruit and his family (more than once maybe). But, if someone offered this up it would be about a 2.5 hour flight (depending on the jet) and he has an airport near his house and obviously Stillwater airport is 5 min from the arena.
I’ll flight plan it from Johnstown fbo, but I’m with you on the flying private.
I’ve already done it from Pittsburgh to Stillwater and it’s 4.5 hours flight (DFW connection) and a little over an hour drive.
Very true. I still figure DT would stay in St college. $$ is a motivating thing.
The next Piece to this would be Dake. Does he leave NLWC to coach OK state RTC or does a program pay him big bucks to get it going like OK did
The fastest route I got flying into SWO was 8 hours due to connection (dfw). And you’re limited more on when you can come and go from SWO. Better options out of Tulsa (5hr total flight time).
Also this is ridiculous to talk about, but anything flights/trips is basically a hobby of mine ha
OK State is very much in the race for both Jax and Bassett. I do not know the back story but Jax loves some OK State from what I have heard. And as far as Bassett goes, correct me if I am wrong, but he wants to go somewhere that he can have a part in taking them to the top from where they are now. Penn State is already there, OK State is rebuilding, and if what I am saying is true, he can have a big hand in getting OK State back to the top!
FWIW, I was not a top recruit (or a recruit of any kind), but I chose to go to OSU 8+ hours away from home partly because of the distance. Being far from home can do a lot to force you to mature and branch out socially because you don’t want to be alone and miserable at school. I think I turned out better off than I would have if I had been 2 hours down the road from mom & dad.

Anyway, it may be prudent to join a membership into a private charter company. I know you can kick 100k into them and membership dues are 995/yr for XO. Or you can pay like 550/yr, but pay 995 a flight or something like that?
So the way to get Bo is having his family fly on private planes? Is that what's being discussed? Bo will pick the place he feels he can attain his goals . I don't see private planes being a factor

I look at the Bassett,Forrest recruiting situation as a parent or grandparent. If I lived in Pennsylvania I would not want my wrestler to be farther than a 2-3 hour drive from home. I would want to be able to go to every dual. Realistically, I do not put much credence in either of them coming to Stillwater. If either of them is coming for the coaching or the tradition they have it in Spades in Pennsylvania. DT would be pretty much a clone of Cael coaching wise and they would be leaving friends, family etc. I also do not think we could out bid Penn St. or any other school back east with NIL money.

I think you’re being too pessimistic. We’ve been the favorite for Jax for a while now and Bo seems to love DT. You mention friends being a pull for PSU. Bo is very close with Dee Lockett and Jax. Obviously you can never count Cael out but based on what several others have said it seems like we have a good shot at one if not both of them.
You were #1 for Jax because of Coleman. Bo could've been training with DT for years at M2 but was at young guns with Jody. So to think he now goes that far from home to be coached by DT doesn't make a ton of sense
Far be it from me to act like I know more than you but I’ve heard multiple angles to this… people always bring Coleman up but the relationship with Zo, John and others was very strong too and Liz drug him down here a lot pre Coleman I thought.
He definitely has relationships with others. And has spent time in Stillwater training with Daton. Most of the posts on the board are about Bo and my feeling is you've a better shot with Jax then Bo
