How Should We Respond?

"There is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea." - Donald Trump

Has he had $1.7 billion in cash delivered and relieved sanctions on North Korea? No? North Korea has received zero for zero? Good talk.

Yes, appeasing the Iranian regime with sanctions relief so they can fund advanced centrifuge R&D and production and purchase loads of military hardware sounds like a great plan. Obama sent idiots to negotiate with the czar of Iran's nuclear program and signed a shitty deal that gave Iran everything and the US nothing just so he could say he got a deal done. Don't take my word for it. Ben Rhodes spilled the beans.

Spoken like a good 'ole neocon!

A short war? How short are you talking?

At least consider the following:

1. We’re still fighting goat-herders in Afghanistan 18 years later

2. We’re still in Iraq 16 years later, that was supposed to be short

3. Iran is four times the size of Iraq, has completely different terrain, has double the population, and they’re Persians (not Arabs — totally different ballgame)

4. Our own border is being invaded and overrun

5. We’re flying and distributing military-age foreign men throughout the US, and letting them lose in US cities. They don’t even have ID.

I also think it would be a short war and wouldn't require ground personnel at all with maybe the exception of special forces/SEALS. The Persians are not like any other group of people in the region and any vacuum there wouldn't be filled by sectarian violence like in Iraq.

Cutting the head off the Revolutionary Guard with cruise missile strikes and going after the mullahs in the same way would probably pave the way for an internal revolution. The regular army would not participate in mass executions of civilians.

The biggest obstacles would be our so called allies in Europe and the useless UN.

It would most definitely not be a short war. That anyone believe otherwise is just a sign of ignorance. It would be like Iraq x10. The Joint Chiefs don’t want a war with Iran and neither should we.

Iran has the technology to give us some problems. We defeated Iraq so easily because we put together a huge coalition which gave us tremendous air superiority and the six week air campaign decimated their entire military infrastructure. For us to take on Iran by ourselves, which is now the only option would be a huge undertaking

I agree that there should be no military response. With the caveat of ‘no OVERTY military response’. If some unattributed action occurs that can’t be traced back to America - well, shit sometimes happens.

If the Iranian nuclear plant starts having glitches again. Who’s to blame? Things break.

Following my last two posts above, this is a pretty interesting thread. It ties the concentration camp stupidity together with the clumsy obvious attempt to get Trump to attack Iran.

Wonder what if any role Kerry played?

Hopefully Trump makes congress beg for war and own it if it happens. We do not need another bottomless pit of blood and money.

Say what you will about Tucker but he is no neocon establishment repube guy.
Yes, Tucker has evolved.
He likes guns, he owns guns, he shoots them with his daughters.
Enough of the guns.
He, like DJT, has the best interests of this country at heart.
He's hip enough to welcome new ideas as long as they conform to and are compatible with the traditional values of the Constitution.
I swear, if I were a fancy blade, I'd work him hard...
