America has no king.

America has no king.

George III

Isn't saving the planet going to be a great economic boom? Bernie says that's his plan. Going all green. You support getting rid of oil and gas, right?

The indexes will cash with the elimination of carbon based products since almost everything produced depends on oil and gas and their byproducts. You win, Trump loses and I lose. You make money that you can then use to support immigrants fleeing oppression.

I would think someone who is as confident as you in your beliefs would want to take advantage of your righteousness.

Dude you can strawman with the best of them. Why am I bernie sanders mouthpiece now? Did savage or levin tell you that's what "we" want?

If your immediate self interest isn't you and your families priority you are a moron.

You're a moron if you construct a SECOND strawman argument to attack. Logic is not your enemy. Literacy isn't either.

Well... yea. Individualism is pretty sweet.

Yeah, as a political ideology it's performed well -- republicans have given us our last 2 recessions and depression. So there's that for your... "individualism."

Tell us how Bush 2.0 caused a recession. I think you've previously avoided this question like you avoid daily hygiene.

This is an obvious problem created at birth.

You don't see China as a bad actor in the world economy?

You aren't wearing blinders you have your entire head buried in the ground.

That’s a bit of a loaded question. Theft of intellectual property is an example of acting badly, and like any theft it should be prosecuted. To the extent that the Chinese government has stolen intellectual property or encouraged Chinese individuals or companies to steal intellectual property, all involved bad actors should face retribution. We both agree on that. The Chinese government or Chinese entities, by the way, are not unique to stealing or attempting to steal intellectual property. Surely we both agree on that.

My point is (and has always been) that the entities that perform the theft are the only ones who should “meet justice.” The protectionist/nationalist remedy is not the appropriate corrective method. It punishes innocent Americans for crimes committed by others. If I stole your car, for example, surely you would not want anyone other than me to go to jail. That would be a massive injustice.

But that’s not the point of my comment to which you replied. My comment consists of two principles or concepts.

The first principle is that people in a free society are left alone to expend their energy and property as they choose. Any interference with that principle is a violation of the moral code on which a free society (which America claims to be) is based.

The second concept is there is no fundamental “trade deficit.” The country of America does not trade with the country of China. Private American citizens and companies trade with their Chinese equivalents. But for argument’s sake let’s grant the protectionist/nationalist notion that our country trades with theirs.

Let’s make up sone numbers. Let’s say America gives China $500 billion. What does America get in return? America gets $500 billion dollars worth of goods and services that it didn’t have before. $500 billion American dollars in exchange for $500 billion dollars worth of products. There is no deficit in the exchange. It balances to $0.00. Anyone should be able to see that.

On the other hand China pays America only $100 billion dollars in exchange for $100 billion dollars worth of American goods and services. Once again the trade is balanced.

That America imports more goods from China than it exports to China is immaterial in figuring a trade “deficit.” In the example above China got $500 billion dollars and $100 billion dollars of goods: $600 billion. America got $100 billion dollars and $500 billion dollars of goods: $600 billion. There is no trade deficit.

It’s a typical political trick for a politician to
point at boogeymen outside the country to scare or infuriate his public, and then position himself as the person fighting to protect the populace. What’s the phrase? It fires up his base and ensures the base will turn out in droves to re-elect the politician who they think is protecting them. Every politician does it. Trump is no exception.

Over the last week The Chosen One, the Second Coming of God, the King of Israel, The Great Promisor himself, has initiated a spiral. I halfway thought he's been distracting from some upcoming bombshell, but nothing has really happened to substantiate this. This is not a drill, Gentlemen. Now he's making impromptu directives via twitter and dropping the Dow >500.

He is knocking on George III status.

You believe in Trump/Russia collusion and you accuse others of dementia?

In syskatine's defense, Trump/Russia collusion isn't the product of dementia. It's the product of sysphilis (not a typo) brain rot, otherwise known as progressive #bornswallower's disease. Zhe has more gaping holes in his brain than zhe has externally available for truckers on the weekends, and zhe's very creative in offering up zher holes to truckers.

Could you get me a brief on that? And include the previous one too under Bush I. And if possible the great depression, too.

Nyet, Comrade. I was only 44.35% convinced that Biff's campaign actively colluded with Putin's gang to finance and enable the Russian propaganda campaign.

Interesting out commie enemy was so supportive of Biff. Scatman thinks it's because he wanted someone that would... stand up to him. What's your theory why our country's communist enemy worked so hard to get him elected?
Russia mistakenly believed they could get more uranium out of the Donald then they already had with Cankles.

If you 1% believed that shit, you should be ashamed.

Putin's guy got elected with a minority of the vote. We see now why our enemies wanted Trump elected. You'll have that awkward fact to answer to for 50 years, assuming we elect a democrat that can get you some affordable health insurance.

I despise when a president sticks his nose in somebody else’s business (literally). Remember when Barack fired the General Motors CEO?
https://www.politico.com/story/2009/03/gm-ceo-resigns-at-obamas-behest-020625

Was that when the u.s. taxpayer owned them?
Prior, I believe. If I recall, it was a ‘OK, we will bail you out, but that dude has got to go’ type of thing.

And comically, the next CEO bragged about paying off the debt to the taxpayer. Only it was with other taxpayer funds. Seriously, what a junk show.

If they needed a bailout... why shouldn't he be replaced?!

That issue should be decided by the shareholders. And We the People didn’t even get to vote!

GM should have declared bankruptcy. Not that I’m a big fan of such, but that’s the legal mechanism and that’s why it’s there.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, vote democrat.

Serious question. Why shouldn't we act in our OWN self-interest? I mean c'mon. Who's going to protect my interest? You? (lol)

So I saw this daily kos tweet (not my fave, btw) and it made me think of your belch n' fart response. Pretty good article explains how in your head, "Voting exclusively out of immediate self interest" draws that response.

You think she's right and you're just a shitty person that intuitively doesn't give a shit about anybody or anything but yourself? Just... self interest immediately and every turn and that explains the failures of bible belt states/deep south/appalachia/red states to get ahead? Or is she really wrong about this? I'd like to hear someone as smart as you expound on this. @Headhunter is in the same boat as you. I'd like to hear from him, too.

Eureka! Selfish, self centered thought is the rotten core of the apple.

In all circumstances or anythign in particular? I brought up self interest as one's exclusive politcal ideology and you're talking about "acting" in self interest. Brushing one's teeth out of self interest is different than enabling a demented president because you think it may be profitable.
Meaningless statement. My (and your) president is not demented, and this presidency is in your best interest as well, but for the fact that you seem to have no sense of personal responsibility whatsoever.

I think that what Biff has done is make it so this kind of logic-free, irrelevant response is now legit to the bornfollower. There's just no way to separate the Loosers' view of their immediate self interest from any decision on any level. Reptiles responding to stimuli really is about the best analog for the MAGA thought process.
