Manafort's hearing was continued without comment.... so what does this mean? Where are you, we need your commentary on this.

Ellis about to let him go?

Plea agreement pending?

Where are we with Mr. Manafort?

He’s been indicted for crimes committed while working with Tony Pedoesta and representing the Ukraine.

Oh, and witness tampering. Which he probably did.

What else you need to know?

So Trump’s campaign manager worked with Hillary’s campaign manager.....

And Trump is supposedly the scourge of the Uniparty?

Weird.

Tony Podesta wasn’t her campaign manager.

You’re right, he wasn’t her campaign manager...my bad.

“In the 2016 presidential election, he raised money for Clinton. Fundraising records show that over the course of a decade Podesta and his wife Heather donated more to the Democratic Party and its candidates than any other lobbyists.”

So Trump’s campaign manager worked with the biggest donor to the Democratic Party and its candidates among all lobbyists, raised money for her, campaigned for her....

And the point made still stands.

Agree - it is weird, and was a dumb move. Would really like to know more about who recommended him and why. Ultimately, Trump should've not hired him though - he's a scummy guy with a sketchy history.

@syskatine what's your point? Got collusion?

Roger Stone recommended him.

According to Roger Stone.

Maybe instead of a “dumb move”, it’s an indication that Trump isn’t the scourge of the Uniparty his supporters want him to be.

Maybe he’s just another unprincipled politician that will do and say whatever is needed to accumulate personal power.

Maybe.

He's definitely the scourge of the uniparty. I'm not biting on that. However, I think you and I agree that he's a heavy follow your instincts kind of guy. And I think as often as that leads him to quirky unpredictable gains, it also bites him in the ass at times. Mannafort is one of those times for sure.

I'm not a Roger Stone fan either. Odd guy.

I know you’re definitely not biting on that.

I just wish your mind was open enough to not dismiss the possibility out of hand so completely like you have.

I'm open minded. I just see it as a pretty self evident thing at this point. It almost seems dogmatic to believe he might not be the scourge of the uniparty. 20D chess kind of stuff. People on both sides of the R/D whom I've always considered to be uniparty - tend to hate the guy with equal enthusiasm, which I regard as a really good thing so long as he keeps appointing constitutionalists.

Now, Trump is well known to make deals with defeated enemies, so to that end - I am definitely open minded to the possibility that he could make unpredictable deals with them and probably has - which is definitely one of the things that keeps me from buying my MAGA hat just yet - even though I would love to see @syskatine try to steal it.

Yes, you definitely appear open minded on this topic...to the point of arguing that actually considering the possibility he’s not is itself dogmatic.

Tony's brother and lobbying firm partner John Podesta was though...

its Possible to be open minded, see how things seem to be and come to a conclusion. He has the ability to prove me wrong and if he does I’ll chsnge my mind and turn on him. So far so good.
