My neighborhood of about 125 houses was hit with a monstrous hail storm about two months ago. Since that time there have been dozens of roofing crews replacing all the damage. The crews usually have 10-12 guys, virtually every one of them Spanish speaking Mexicans. I wonder how many of them are in the country illegally. If MAGA gets its way and deports them all it leaves the question of who will shingle our roofs in the future? Who will mow our lawns and tend our gardens? Surely all those illegals working in our neighborhoods are not murderers and rapists? It would be absolutist to think that.

A pure libertarian society would have roads just like it would have shoes and socks and toothbrushes and furniture and every other commodity. Are you thinking a society of free individuals would be incapable of building roads?
I think you answered your own question unless you think the only folks capable of roofing and mowing are illegal aliens.
I think it’s more a situation where they’re the ones willing to do the work. Not to mention a free society is unlikely to have illegal residents. What and who would make them illegal?

Dan, the laws of a country determine who is a legal citizen/resident and who isn't. That's not a new concept. The US has a whole slew of laws regarding citizenship. Surely you know this, right?

Hell, Medic, even you could do it. But being a dispatcher for ambulances is something all of us would choose over roofing. Yes, we are all aware there is a "whole slew" of laws determining who can get into our paradise and who can't. One of the great things about our paradise is there are people willing to do our roofing and mowing so we don't have to.
