Grilling people question on wood pellets

So I was trying to get some lump apple wood this weekend and I waited to long. I picked up a bag of wood pellets instead. I have never used the pellets though any advise would be welcomed. Thanks!
 
Well google seems to explain it pretty well. I thought maybe there was more to it seems easier then lump wood or chips sweet.

I will be constructing a 55 gal barrel smoker, also known as an UDS or Ugly Drum Smoker, this summer. I'm moving away from trying to have my smoking wood also serve as the heat source (and I would like to have the ability to "cold smoke" things like cheese, fish, jerky, etc.) so I'm building a junk yard version of this contraption for that purpose

If I can get the parts I need from the local weekend swap meet, I figure I can build a decent version of this for less than $20. Can use sawdust, pellets or chips.

Concur. Have had mine 9 years. Just cooked up a mess of BBQ for my folks at the office yesterday.

5 racks of ribs, 9-10 pounds of pulled pork and a slew of hot links and kasewurst. It does a damn good job.

Have you seen the new Timberline series?

I am thinking about one... looking at an outdoor kitchen with the Timberline at the center and maybe a NG Sear grill as well!
