We are doomed! Climate change is killing us. Now don't confuse weather & climate--weather is to climate as human rights abusers are to the United Nations. A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.

"He said governments have a 10-year window of opportunity to solve the greenhouse effect before it goes beyond human control. As the warming melts polar icecaps, ocean levels will rise by up to three feet, enough to cover the Maldives and other flat island nations, Brown told The Associated Press in an interview on Wednesday.

Coastal regions will be inundated; one-sixth of Bangladesh could be flooded, displacing a fourth of its 90 million people. A fifth of Egypt’s arable land in the Nile Delta would be flooded, cutting off its food supply, according to a joint UNEP and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency study.

″Ecological refugees will become a major concern, and what’s worse is you may find that people can move to drier ground, but the soils and the natural resources may not support life. Africa doesn’t have to worry about land, but would you want to live in the Sahara?″ he said."

Dipshits like @Syskatine are still falling for this shit. You'd think that after the first 48,649 alarmist predictions failed, the narrative chugging idiots would say "hmmmm, something seems weird."

In my carbon emitter right this second it says 12 degrees on the ol thermometer. Wear a coat today it’s chilly!

'@AOC 's Green New Deal calls for:
"(J) removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere."https://t.co/t9HuWwC1rI
Technically (scientifically) this would mean removing all H2O vapour and all CO2 which would mean the eradication of all life on Earth.
Brilliant. pic.twitter.com/i91rvW0HXI

Pompous little twit. You don’t have a plan to grow food for 8 billion people without fossil fuels, or get the food into the cities. Horses? If fossil fuels were banned every tree in the world would be cut down for fuel for cooking and heating. You would bring about mass death.

— Patrick Moore (@EcoSenseNow) February 23, 2019

You are delusional if you think fossil fuels will end any time soon, maybe in 500 yrs. AOC’s attitude is unjustifiably condescending. She is a neophyte pretending to be wise. Her kind bring ruination if allowed to be “in charge”. (from the cheap seats).

That was a pretty awesome editorial

Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of ″eco- refugees,′ ′ threatening political chaos, said Noel Brown, director of the New York office of the U.N. Environment Program, or UNEP.

You are using a European refugee crisis picture caused by civil war to justify global warming alarmism?

Uhhhhh, neither ISIS nor the al Qaeda rebels were fighting for water or fleeing flooded coastal areas. I'd say this was a nice attempt, but it was as lame as some toon work.

So crop failures led to the attempted overthrow of the Syrian government by two different terrorist groups? Are "Sharia Law" and "Caliphate" code names for crop failure? It all makes sense now. ISIS and al Qaeda were just trying to improve agriculture. They aren't Islamic terrorists after all. Effing brilliant!

Interesting article, and if you are a global warming alarmist, you will only read the segments that say that the current drought is caused by global warming. Yet, in their own article, they articulate that they've had 6 similar droughts (multiple year droughts) in the period from 1900 to 2005. Also documents how they aren't even sure what Syria's average rainfall is supposed to be (scientists differ). I find it strange that we can measure global warming impact in a region where we can't even reach a concensus of what the climate is supposed to be. And finally, show me where this draught aligns to coastal flooding which is what the alarmists were prognasticating. The bar for paranoia has to be higher than a reoccurrance of a naturally reoccurring event.

Medic, I'd direct you to the article aixpert so helpfully linked.

There is kind of a sweet spot when it comes water
Yes, I now know that a desire for traditional Islamic Sharia government and a caliphate are because of coastal flooding, drought, and water sweet spots. The current flow of refugees from war zones are actually escaping the drought and coastal flooding as opposed to the military conflicts that the desire for traditional Islamic Sharia law and establishment of a caliphate have caused.

All those pictures of drought and flood torn cities are evidence that we should have supported ISIS in their quest to flee drought and floods and engage in warfare with governments for the bettering of the local victims of coastal flooding and drought. I'm sure this has been the case in Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Egypt, Afghanistan, Somalia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia, if not more countries as well.

Now I know that groups like ISIS, al Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, Taliban, Boko Haram, Hizbul Mujahedeen, IMC, and Sipah Sahaba aren't Islamic terrorist groups at all. They're just people seeking higher ground and more water. Their violence has nothing to do with Wahhabi or Salafi ideology. The people fleeing those groups are idiots for fleeing people that are just trying to keep from being victims of coastal flooding and drought. And we're idiots for fighting eco refugees like ISIS, al Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, and Boko Haram.

That's why I love this board. I learn cool new shit everyday. We need to rethink how we view "terrorist" attacks committed by all these eco refugee groups and probably commit to bringing them all to the US so we can protect them from coastal flooding and drought.

crop failures would create an exodus of ″eco- refugees,′ ′ threatening political chaos
Yes, I'm aware as I clearly stated. The eco refugee groups like ISIS, al Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, Boko Haram, etc are creating political chaos because they are fleeing rampant coastal flooding and drought.

I'm wondering why people flee from these eco refugee groups and why countries are using military power to prevent those eco refugee groups from fleeing rampant coastal flooding and drought. Do people flee from these eco refugee groups because the groups actually cause the coastal flooding and droughts when they arrive? Can't we just get them to sign on to the Paris Agreement and reduce their emissions if they're emitting so much carbon pollution that rampant coastal flooding and drought follow them everywhere they go?

Weird to see all of these ISIS people in the streets of Homs. Strangely they aren't wearing masks or waving their flag.

It is weird. Homs is well known for a seige between Syrian government forces and rebel forces, and I originally believed that people that fled Homs fled the violence, but now I know the people that fled Homs fled the rampant coastal flooding and drought. A bunch of them have returned. How are they able to return to a city that's under water?

Who can forget when Assad crossed the famous red line by using chemical weapons on ISIS.

"Before the Syrian uprising that began in 2011, the greater Fertile Crescent experienced the most severe drought in the instrumental record. For Syria, a country marked by poor governance and unsustainable agricultural and environmental policies, the drought had a catalytic effect, contributing to political unrest. "

Geez. I know. I'm agreeing with you. The political chaos in Syria was directly tied to crop failure and coastal flooding. Eco refugee group escaping crop failures and coastal floods battled Assad's forces because he wouldn't let them enter Syria.

Yes. Groups like al-Nusra Front and Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham were battling Syrian forces because of crop failures and coastal flooding. They were eco refugees.
