NLWC wrestlers went 2-5 in the first round, these fans aren’t familiar with the struggle of their guys losing the big matches 😅Bruh, just went over PSU board to see what they say about MM loss, they are actively rooting against Wyatt and think healthy Kerk take him down. lol They are already sick of OSU noise.
Yea it looked like both of woods knees were off the groundIf wrestling doesn’t work out real woods has a future in long distance running
Zahid has been right there for years and won a medal at 92 he was so much bigger and longer Dake can't get in on him. One guy was wrestling 163 a year ago and he other 203 which is insaneThree straight decisive victories against Kyle Dake. Can't overstate how awesome that is
I mean that’s 3 college kids and a kid that graduates high school next week against Spencer lee, Yianni , Carr and Hidley whose built like a silverback gorillaNLWC wrestlers went 2-5 in the first round, these fans aren’t familiar with the struggle of their guys losing the big matches 😅
Carter had a huge size advantage as well. Size was definitely a factor, but far from the whole story for why Zahid outclassed him three straight times.Zahid has been right there for years and won a medal at 92 he was so much bigger and longer Dake can't get in on him. I was hoping he'd go to CornellDuke is stud even before he gets to PSU. Generational talent. I was sad before and sad again today to have missed himat OSU.
Didnt see. Was Joey in both matches?Zahid looked great. Bummed for Joey. Wyatt is strong and fast but needs to button up some defense.
Both were very close ….He was winning match one then gave up a late 4 to lose …match 2 he came back from an early 4-0 hole to make it 4-4 late but the ref let woods run most of the 2nd period and in the final 15 seconds their was a questionable grounded call in woods favor and accidental singlet pull by woods that joey challenged and lost so 5-4 was the finalDidnt see. Was Joey in both matches?
Would've been Lehigh if not Penn stI was hoping he'd go to Cornell
Definitely would’ve preferred that. Crookham, Resnick and Duke on the same team would’ve been fire.Would've been Lehigh if not Penn st
Uh, Stanich?Definitely would’ve preferred that. Crookham, Resnick and Duke on the same team would’ve been fire.
And Duke is an animal.Good wins by Wyatt and Zahid. As for PSU/NLWC, we have a very young freestyle team, so losing was expected. The experience alone at the senior level was invaluable. The only wrestler who I thought underperformed was MM, but as others have said, he is close to Askren and that may have affected results. That said, Carr deserved to win, and there is no reason to believe that he couldn't beat MM again.
With three years to go, it isn't certain that Lee represents in 2028. LL is the first guy in a long time that Lee didn't steamroll to TFs. Even gave up a TD. Still not betting against Lee, but I love the fact that he will be pushed. Might have been the problem last year.
I think Father Time has found Dake and is knocking on the door.
That he is. Just the mental part was amazing. I can't recall the last time an 18 year old down a match and 9-1 after the 1st period in the second match to an all-timer had the intestinal fortitude to fight all the way back to win. That sort of fight is rarely seen in anyone let alone an 18 year old. It's so easy to give up there and say afterwards how much you just appreciated the experience. And Duke is an animal.
PSU/NLWC has 10 guys on the senior USA National Freestyle Team and 13 guys wrestling for the USA on at least one of the world teams (U17, U20, U23, Sr).NLWC wrestlers went 2-5 in the first round, these fans aren’t familiar with the struggle of their guys losing the big matches 😅
