I wonder if the training camp will be at NLWC again this year? UsaW really had no choice for the Olympics since they had so many guys on the team. I doubt with having 3 out of 10 they can say were not leaving PA
I bet they stay away from Ohio, Vegas and Thailand.
Now just rumors but I have heard some can't wait for Worlds to be in Budapest again

Duke is a beast, obviously you cant underestimate him or make a mistake as Yianni found out. PSU was always the front runner for him. Corby said Lehigh was his second choice and I'm sure it was a distant second. At the time of his visits/recruiting, we didnt have much going in our RTC and that was a big factor I'm sure (same with Blaze). Also Stilly is a long ways from home for both those guys. Call me crazy but I'm not sure there wasnt/ is an issue of some kind between KD (Dukes coach) and DT. May be a nothing burger but, maybe not.

Zahid is a dawg! Dake will always have trouble getting to legs against a guy with that kind of length up at 86KG. That being said, Z's ability to to score on Kyle was awesome.
Wyatt needs to clean up somethings in his FS game but he's a goer and I love how he just keeps coming. I'd be amazed if he doesnt medal at worlds.

No issues between KD and DT that I am aware of. KD and Rocco visited Stillwater during the season as Rocco was looking around

It's a match because Wyatt is athletic enough to make it a match. I get what Zare is. Stallin azz. Look at the guys who can beat him. They get to legs.

Duke - I won't put one here, I am done trying to figure him out...gamer
Carr - 75% recently beat Olympic Silver
Haines - 50% maybe higher
Zahid - 75%
Hidlay - He's undervalued but I don't know this weight at all
Snyder - 75%
Wyatt - 50% if he gets his D tuned up it's higher.

Seriously though, I think you got the top 4 listed in order of chances to win. Lee, Zahid, Carr, and Snyder. Next tier of winning chances are Haines and Hidlay. Then Wyatt, Duke, and Woods. Wyatt and Duke may surprise but I don't believe they win. Senior Worlds is a big stage. Just my pennies.

Haines can get a poor draw and there are a few guys that are going to be hard to beat! I think Wick was like the 15th ranked guy in the world? He could hit Gulaev, the Mongolian, Takahashi...there are some landmines at 79.
Not knocking anyone here and the knowledge they've im just not sure how many people actually understand how good the world is at freestyle. Guys don't typically go to their 1st worlds and kickass. The experience of getting foreign feels is so important. And this team doesn't have a ton of international miles. So I will temper my expectations for this team
I am just saying, we are pretty stout too...but yes, the rest of the World doesn't mess with Folkstyle and concentrates on Freestyle.
Also, sometimes you have to depend on getting pulled back in to even have a chance to medal.

absolutely. Spencer and Snyder have the experience but Zahid and Carr have great shots imo. Beyond those four, I think your words go a long way. Experience counts at the Worlds level.
That's based on history though. I get it. It doesn't pick up on an AB type guy who takes bronze and a brain fart from potentially being the gold medalist. So those rankings are what they are. They tell a story but not the whole story.
Those pictures with Zack are old he stopped training with KD a couple years ago. I believe it was after Zack won his second U17 world medal

Yes exactly. I follow international wrestling very closely and watch all the international tournaments and have for years . We don't have many guys that are supposed to medal.If Iran goes I would put our over/under on medals at 4 1/2

You're right that we don't have a lot of guys that "should" medal. But remember that at worlds each country can only send one guy. So you don't have to beat 10 guys that are ranked ahead of you. Plus the silly repechage is actually good for us. We don't typically place less than 5th (other than at 65kg)
2017 - 6 medals (in 8 weight classes), TEAM CHAMPS
2018 - 7 medals, Team 2nd
2019 - 4 medals, Team 4th (DT injured this year)
2021 - 7 medals, Team 2nd
2022 - 8 medals, TEAM CHAMPS
2023 - 7 medals, TEAM CHAMPS
So in the past 6 World Championships since 2017 - MURICA has averaged 6.5 medals. With only one year where we won less than 6 medals. So your 4 1/2 is absolute gloom and doom and is not historically accurate. Two things in our favor - our process/depth and the World Team Camps.
Our process/depth makes it sure that the best guy of the year is wrestling at World's. And we're the second best country in terms of overall depth on the world stage. I said it on another site - but Bill Zadick makes him money between Final X and Worlds. Our guys absolutely wrestle their best at Worlds. They always look tactically ready, and if they lose, its simply because the other guy is better.
So 10 medals? Absolutely not happening. But it could, and tammit, I'm TEAM AMERICA.

Woods - cuz 65 is 65. And we have ONE freaking medal since 2006.
Duke - hope he wrestles at u20s to get more international matches
Snyder - he's now draw dependent. Taz, Sad, Azarpira, and now even the Japanese Yoshida are all going to beat him.
