Feminism Today

I would hope a starting point would be an agreement that in athletic events, that require strength, height, and athleticism is an advantage, that everyone agrees we should not disadvantage girls.

If an individual wants to transition, that is their choice. But ...
1) a male transitioning to a female should not compete against high school girls. The CT track results are a perfect example as to how that is patently unfair to other girls.
2) a female transitioning to a male, and undergoing hormone therapy, should not compete against high school girls. In this case, testosterone is a major PED. In the TX example, Mack has a huge chemical advantage over the girls he wrestled.

So essentially no transitioning individuals actually get to compete? Or is it they all have compete as males?

Okay, now how do you deal with intersex individuals or individuals that have had sex change surgery?

Yes to your first question, it is an unfair competition. A HS girl is at a huge disadvantage competitive against a male identifying as a female or against a female taking testosterone. I also don’t believe that should be much of a discussion. Just biology.
Do you believe the CT and TX examples were fair to the competitions HS girls?

Sex change? I would apply similar rules. But rare for HS students to have completed sex change surgery.

You didn’t answer any of my questions. You just restated your prior opinion. I’ll try again and break down my precious compound question further.

Do transitioning individuals (either way) just not get to compete at all? Against anybody? Is that your solution?

Can male to female transitioners continue to compete in the male divisions? Can female to male transitioners compete in male divisions?

What about intersex individuals?

Do sex change completioners get to compete at all? If so, where (original sex or based upon their new naughty bits).

I would also say you seem very focused on protecting HIGH SCHOOL girls in competition. For me, the question is broader than that. I’m talking about all athletic competitions.

This has previously been discussed here, so I’m not at that interested in rehashing what I’ve heard and said before. My position has been that you test for testosterone/estrogen levels/ratios and have established levels of each as a definition of qualified to compete as male or female effectively. Even that isn’t a perfect solution. No, it isn’t as simple as “just biology”.

I simply pointed out that NZ posted an article about a female transitioning to male in support of his point that male to female transitioners shouldn’t be able to compete against women.

Interesting. You state I didn’t answer your question and then don’t answer mine. Well played.

I mentioned high school specifically because that were the two examples posted. In CT and TX. But I would say my thoughts are probably the same for all amateur sports. And my question to you was do you feel it was fair to the other girls?

I gave you my opinion about sex change.

I don’t know near enough about intersex to have an educated opinion. I don’t know of any reason why that the female runner from South Africa should not be able to compete with females.

You answer mine, and I’ll be happy to answer yours.

Screw it, I’ll answer yours anyway even knowing you’re never gonna answer mine.

No, neither of those situations are fair to high school girls. Of course, I’ve never advocated for either one of those as the solution or answer to these question.

Now, turnabout fair play. How about you answer mine as clearly and directly as I answered yours.

As I stated previously, it is unfair competition for a male transitioning to female to compete against females. And for a female taking a PED like testosterone to complete against female. I don’t see a competitive issue for those individuals to compete against men.

I also don’t see a competitive issue for a female to male transitioning in a competition against a male.

As I said previously I would apply same principles to sex change as it relates to amateur athletics.

And as I stated previously, I don’t have an opinion about intersex. ( I am not Stephen A. Sm ith and have an opinion or everything.). The little i’ve read about the South African runner makes me wonder why anyone would question her eligibility.

I was completely right.

There is no way you are ever gonna actually answer my questions and directly as I answered yours.

You are just gonna keep repeating the same thing.

Good talk, I guess.

Haha. Don’t understand your comprehension issue. Oh, well.
