... is ruining this country.

The last time the GOP elected a true conservative was Ronald Reagan.

Since then, the American public has been force fed a steady diet of establishment administrations: Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, Obama. It's killing us.

Establishment pols are those who have been bought and paid for by special interests. Often times they are bought and paid for by the exact same people.

For the GOP, McCain and Romney were both establishment big government guys. Kerry was for the Dems. Hillary is the establishment candidate for them now.

In my opinion Trump isn't a conservative, he just isn't bought and paid for (he was the one of the fellas buying candidates in the past).

As a conservative, Cruz seems like the only option. I'm not sure I can trust him though. I had hope for Fiorina, but she doesn't stand a chance. The others are just bought and paid for big government more of the same. I think I'm going to go throw up.

Why don't you think you can trust Cruz? He seems to do what he says he is going to do despite being raked over the coals by both sides.

Trump is definitely not a conservative but he is anti-establishment, which might be good for getting the country headed back the right direction on a few issues.

I'll vote for whomever is opposite Hillary. I'll have to hold my nose if it's Kasich or Bush.

After years of experience, I can't trust any politician. Cruz is the guy I'm pulling for.

I do like Carson, I just don't think he has great leadership qualities.

Trot out Rubio and a long list of the other candidates and I will probably just go with the Constitution Party candidate.

The establishment has been trying to say for years that the reason the GOP keeps losing is because of conservatism. Fact of the matter is all they have been trotting out are the guys that they have bought and paid for that don't have a clue what conservatism is all about.

I've felt this way for a long time. The fact of the matter is that the only thing these "conservatives" are trying to conserve is the establishment itself and the money those special interest pay them to ensure protectionist policies keep the golden goose pointed thier direction.

I always love and appreciate these types of threads. Basically all of the GOPers here will vote republican no matter which cansidate gets the nod. That has been the case for the past several elections, and i do not believe for one second that this time will be any different. The DNC will do everything possible to make sure HRC will get that nod. Everybody here will pull the same crap of voting whatever trainwreck of a candidate that the GOP puts out, because of the same old fear tactics of "the DNC will destroy the country, so the GOP candidate cannot be as bad." Happens every time, and every time will be the last time, as a third party candidate is the way to go (which....never happens). I still remember how much crap i recieved last time for voting third party over the same old tired GOP candidate.

Rubio is the most likely of the puppet GOP candidates to be nominated. I am willing to bet all in this thread would vote for him come general election.

I think things are different now blb. Too many people are put out with the establishment.

If I don't get close to what I want, it might as well be a Dem. What's the difference between them and the liberal establishment candidates the Pubs have been trying to peddle?

I say if it's not Trump, Cruz, Carson, or Fiorina ... let it burn to the ground.

I love the sentiment, but that is the same thing some fellow named AC2001 said at about this time last go-round ;) it is always different until time to mark the ballot. I do hope you are right, though.

Actually I wasn't talking that way last time. I was still drinking the Kool-aid.

I knew Romney and McCain weren't exactly what I wanted, but I thought they could make a difference. I was wrong.

The money people do not like the more Libertarian minded conservatives. They're embarrassed of us.

Screw them. They'll never get my vote again.

If I still lived in Oklahoma, I'd want the heads of the GOP "conservatives" that rolled over for Obama and passed the omnibus spending bill. Those liars said they were going to Washington to stand up to Obama and the Dems.

Might as well vote for a Democrat. At least they're honest about what they're going to do.

Good for you, then! There is still hope! I get that full Libertarianism is not likely to latch on here, nor, probably, should all of the platform goals be accepted (i diaagree with some of the platform, myslef). But, the GOP desparately needs to lean more that way, or they will not be electable, and should not be elected. Rubio is proving that with each pandering conference.

Why vote for Hillary light with Rubio (and he's not the only one)? I'm done setting for the small turd in the punch bowl instead of the obvious big one. I can unequivocally say if it's Rubio, Jebster or Christie is the nominee I'll vote for anyone else other than Hillary.

The establishment gang sucks and has no idea what it's like in the land of people who aren't lobbiest kissing their backside. What they don't get is every time someone bashes Trump, some one most normal people loath (news clowns, liberal clowns, GOP establishment clowns etcetera), they just make Trump stronger.

Won't waste an ounce of gas, time or effort on someone whom I have virtually nothing to like about.

Reading the comments section on Facebook from some of the GOP personalities I've followed over the years has been hilarious reading.

Any time a Paul Ryan or James Langford releases a Facebook propaganda piece on how they are for cutting taxes or are for responsible government, Republican conservatives (maybe former Republicans these days) are hammering them on the omnibus spending bill.

"Expert" political strategists have to be pulling their hair out these days.

Awesome!

I would like to inform you before you lose money to Thor that if Rubio is the nomination I won't vote at all in the election. Same goes for Christy. I honestly will only vote 100% for Paul, Cruz, Carson, or Fiorina. I am not even sure about Trump as honestly I don't know if it is better to cut out the middle man (lobbyist groups) and just elect the one who funds lobbyist groups. If you don't think Trump would hook himself or his business ventures up and his buddies then you have more faith then I. Honestly the only one that I would elect because he is for the people is Carson.

So mark me down as one who won't swallow what the party forces down my throat.

Well, since I'm not going to be taking bronco to the bank I knew I had a minimum of two that would either vote 3rd party or not at all. Jonny makes three

It's possible I would vote for Trump. I really don't know where he stands on most issues but am enjoying his FU to the press.

All I need is one that would either sit out the election or vote third party right? I'll take that bet. What's your wager?

You and Mega are the only two non-dem that show a willingness to go against the grain. You have seen it happen in enough elections. Every time, it is the same thing. I believe Vito, actually. The typical hard liners always apout the "this will be the last time," then the next time comes around, and it ia always a vote for any non-GOP is a vote for thw dem. Like i said to noname, i would love to be proven wrong. Until that does happen, these types of threads will continue to amuse me.

I don't disagree and I suspect 98% of the time you are right. I've been slammed pretty hard for saying that voting for the lesser of two evils is a bigger wasted vote than a third party you actually like or not voting at all. Since I had posted in the thread I knew I could win the hypothetical bet. Especially since I've only voted for one Dem or Rep in the general election since 2000

I've started to wonder recently if I should start voting for the individual that will do the most harm since the entire thing is beyond any conceivable repair. My conscience probably won't let me do it though. Mostly because I don't know for certain what a total collapse would look like nor do I really want to see it.

@blbronco What has made me snap is the fact that republicans have held Congress yet everything remains the same. No one in Congress seems to have a back bone or a brain. Also the social issues that seem to always hang up the Republicans drives me nuts. Seems like the guys in DC only care about my tax payments instead of my voice. I am just at my breaking point and only being 32 my eyes are opening to things that in the past I probably didn't pay enough attention to. A person all the way to the right like sys and cup are to the left drives me just as nuts. All it does is create hate and with hate comes fear and with fear in our hearts then the politicians are able to take our freedoms.

Christy is the worst of the lot and I hope none of the other people make him the AG if elected.

I had the same revelation during Bush 2 being re-elected. Only difference, the politicians do not care about tax dollars, since that is mostly traceable, they care about lobbyist dollars. The shear lunacy with how far into outrageous stupidity that a politician will go to just to satisfy the lobbyists amazes me.

Pokewithnoname, i am probably 90% in line with you politically. GOP has to stop pandering to social judgement. The overzealous religious (i am not painting all the religious with the same brush here) run way too many republicans...see Rubio. All they do is alienate a massive part of the population (those that are gay, and those that do not care about gay marriage included in that...many other examples as well), while gaining nothing. Who is that religious group going to back? The consider the democrats as godless baby-killers, and there really is no third party that fits their agenda. Why piss people like me off and gain, quite literally, nothing. Maybe payoffs, i do not know.

If my choice is Hillary Clinton or the Devil I'm going to give the Devil a real serious look, even then the best I could do is not vote.

The Clinton's are repulsive, immoral, money grubbers. The sound of Hillary's voice gives me the dry heaves. I will vote for anyone other than her but I certainly hope it's someone outside the establishment. They disgust me almost as much as Hillary.
